Today, It's been a week since I asked out the girl I like. We knew each other as kids, and reconnected. We get along perfectly, understand each other's humor, and have similar hobbies, as well as having been on a few dates. She said we can only be friends. She won't stop texting me "What's wrong?" asking to hang out. FML

tell her straight up you want to be more and because of that you can't be friends with her anymore. be blunt and honest. if she truly doesn't want that then move on. don't let her string you along

Good on you for putting yourself out there. Good also for realizing and working to move on despite the hurt. I agree that for closure for both of you that you need to tell her why you are upset and the realization you came to. Get that off your chest without burning the bridge and you will feel better about moving on.
