Today, there are two cats in my basement that won't stop fighting. Loudly. I'm trying to sleep, if you don't mind. FML

gee, maybe you could put them in separate rooms?

OK couple'a questions here.. are they YOUR cats? If so, separate rooms, stat. Second, if they are NOT your cats, who's are they? And can you talk to said owners about them? if they are strays/ferals, then you need to look for a local TNR group that will get them sorted out. last resort if they *are* strays or ferals, go down there with a squirt bottle and douse them until they split and take off.

The Fabulous Cardboard of Hiding works better than squirt bottles. Put a great piece of cardboard between the two cats so they cannot see each other anymore, then slowly push one of them towards the door. If you don't have a big enough cardboard or piece of wood, you can try the Throw Pillow of Shame. Simply throw a big pillow between the two cats and watch them flee.
