Welcome…
Today, I met my mother's deeply religious fiancé for the first time. His response upon seeing me was to look me square in the eye and say, "You'll need to take out that nose stud or I'm afraid you'll not be welcome in our home." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I flew home to visit my parents. We haven't seen each other in two years, I've gotten a few tattoos done since, and I knew they wouldn't approve, so I bought whole new outfits that covered everything and looked professional. When I got there, the first thing my mom says to me is, "Is that a nose ring!?" FML
Today, while having dinner with my girlfriend's very religious parents, her mother called me a heathen and said she'd convert me one day. She wasn't kidding. FML
Today, I mustered up the courage to visit my estranged mega fundamentalist father to hopefully mend our relationship. The first thing he did was insult me for not having a beard, and call my wife and daughters whores because they weren't wearing long skirts or dresses. FML
Today, my mom got drunk and started crying at my after-wedding party, after promising she'd behave herself. She thinks my husband is an awful person who'll drag me into a life of sin, all because he has a tattoo and an ear piercing. FML
Today, I met my boyfriend's mom for the first time. I introduced myself and went to shake her hand. She looked me up and down and said, "I don't shake hands with whores." FML
Today, my stepfather-to-be yelled at me, insisting I take my nose piercing out, because it will "ruin the wedding photos" since I'm a bridesmaid. It's a tiny diamante stud, no bigger than a small pinhead. He then went on a rant about how I need to respect his authority in the family. I'm 25. FML
Today, my fiancé's mother gave me a beautiful cross necklace to wear for my wedding. I'm Jewish. FML
Today, my mother, her fiancé, and I were having dinner together. My mother was joking that she wasn't sure she could hold him down, as he used to "get around." She turned to talk to the waiter and my future step-father looked me up and down and winked. FML
Today, I met my biological mother for the first time. I also found out from her husband that she has her nipples and nether regions pierced. FML
Today, I met my boyfriend's parents for the first time. His mom stared at me throughout dinner before finally blurting out, "I'm sorry, I can't get past the fact that you look just like his ex!" It turns out I do. FML

I don't see what your nose stud has to do with religion, this guy sounds like a bit of an ass!

I noticed that the most judgmental people I have met, including my foster mom, have all been Christian and go to church. They preach on and on about accepting others for who they are, but as soon as church ends they are the first to judge and say who is going to hell ( those who have different religions and believe in Allah, Buddha ect. And those who are athiest) and who us going to heaven to be with god. Anyone who believes differently are sinners and need to be "saved and prayed" for or they are not getting into heaven. They are the quickest to try to show passages from the bible down others throats but hate it when you tell them you are not interested or you don't care, or and they show their hate for Muslims the most I've noticed, mostly because their god is Allah and not Jesus. And then they wonder why they are called hypocrites and most people don't like them. I was forced to go to church and I was forced to hear my foster mom read the bible when I was tryna eat breakfast, so I started waking up before she did to avoid the bible readings. I'm sure not all of them are like that but all the Christians I've met are some of the most judgmental people I know but when you turn the tables on them suddenly it's a sin and your reciting bible passages back and forth to each other ( they do challenge you when you read passages to them specially the one about judging others) and it gets stupid. Religion is like a dick. Ok to have it and ok to whip it out once in a while. Not ok to force it on other people.

Am I the only one who immediately thought of the Buffy episode "Ted?"

Now I wonder what the logic is for that...
