Today, while out with my family, I happened to run into "the one who got away." She smilingly introduced herself to my wife, who definitely noticed that she and our daughter share the same name. FML

Today, I met my wife's other husband. FML
Today, I was introduced to the girl my current boyfriend went out with while dating me. FML
Today, my wife and I both spent a weekend away separately with our close friends. However, we ran into each other, unplanned, at the airport. She was with her girls and I was with my girlfriend. FML
Today, I was in the bank with my seven year-old daughter, when I saw an old high school friend of mine with his wife. I said hello, and he commented on how beautiful my little girl was. I thanked him, and as I turned away, I heard his wife say, "I guess the father must be the good looking one." FML
Today, my husband and I ran into his high school girlfriend at the mall. We were catching up and my husband told her that we have a daughter. She asked what our daughter's name, but my husband hesitated and tried to change the subject, so I told her it was Juniper. That was her name. FML
Today, I had to go to the mall for a quick errand. While there one of my friends who works at a phone booth was there and I stayed for a little bit chatting with him. While chatting, a girl passed by. She was so pretty that I blurted out, "What a woman!" out loud. Turns out it was my ex. FML
Today, I ran into my girlfriend by chance while out shopping. She looked different than usual. Maybe it was the wedding ring she was wearing, or how she had her arm around another gentleman, gee, I don't know. That's two years of my life wasted. FML
Today, I found out that the one who got away just had a baby, and named it after me. My current longtime girlfriend and I already decided not to have kids. FML
Today, after convincing my now ex-girlfriend that I wasn’t cheating on her with a girl from work the other day, I accidentally called her by her name. They both start with “M”. Hello, single life. FML
Today, I met my husband's other wife. FML

It means she was the one he felt he was meant to be with, but for whatever reason it didn't happen. In other words, he thought it was okay to name his kid after his long-lost "true love."

What if.... the wife chose the name but the husband didn't want to go against his wife's wishes for a nice name? Oh I don't know! Hope it was a name like Jessica or something. Nothing too unique.

Okay, this makes me really angry. If your daughter finds out, she's going to be really messed up. 1) your wife and you are arguing, she overhears the reason, she blames herself for the martial issues between her mother and father 2) she feels like a token, like her identity is invalid. Her name isn't her own 3) her mother grows partially distant to her because her husband named the fruits of their love and her labor after another woman, and she blames herself/doesn't understand why her mother is looking at her like that Dude I could go on and on, why the hell did you do that?? She's just a child!

I named our daughter after a woman I heard on a radio show every morning . I told my wife about the name and she liked it also. It's not creepy

Were you in love with the radio woman? Do you currently refer to her as "the one who got away," meaning you consider her (not your wife) to be your "true" love? Or did you just happen to really like her name? Because the FML is not that he happened to find the name of some woman really pretty. It's because he named his daughter after a woman he prefers over his current wife.
