Today, I put up my profile pic in Call of Duty: Mobile for the first time and got more than 50 friend requests and some very offensive messages from creepy guys. FML

Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I realized the closest thing I have to guys hitting on me are the ones who ask to be my friend on Call of Duty because I have the word "girl" in my name. FML
Today, I uploaded a new Facebook profile photo, which got over 20 likes in the space of an hour. The most I've ever gotten before was 10. Surprised, I went to check my picture again, only to notice two guys were sarcastically flipping me the bird in the background. FML
Today, and for the past two weeks, I decided to try online gaming, as it's something I've never done before. I already have a creep stalking me because I mentioned I was single and he's a horny virgin. Remind me never to talk about my lack of love life online again. FML
Today, I got a new smartphone and wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a naughty picture with it. A few minutes after sending it, I got a reply back from my girlfriend. And my best friend. And my sister. And everyone on my contacts list. FML
Today, trying to battle this addictive social media act, I currently have only one profile with my name or face. In my phone the apps I have are FML, Grindr, and Pokémon Go. FML
Today, I let my little sister play a game using my Facebook account. She then accepted all of the people that had sent me a friend request. Among them included my boyfriend's crazy ex, and 3 people I've never met. Now I'm getting strange messages from all of them. FML
Today, the man who tried to mug me sent me a friend request on Facebook. FML
Today, I received a new like on a dating site… from my extremely creepy second cousin. FML
Today, I went on Facebook to find that my little brother had messed with my profile. He wrote on my status that I'm a piece of shit, I have no life, and several other nasty and perverted things. Underneath, it said 26 of my friends liked this. I'm new to Facebook. So far I have 26 friends. FML
Today, while on Grindr, I saw that this guy I'm friends with and have liked for a while now had messaged me. I got all excited, just for it to be a picture of him flipping me off. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

That's why I don't post pics of myself online. Especially in a toxic setting. As a gamer, I know my place to not reveal myself in a gaming community. Definitely not in a COD setting. Most FPS gamers are toxic (I'm mostly a single-play gamer). Practice going incognito.

This type of martyrdom is extremely pathetic. Sack up, son, you didn't do anything.

yep, I agree with Animosity....my Gender has some really shitty people in it. especially on the gamer front. one of the reasons I don't play online games anymore, people take it way to seriously. sorry you have to deal with the dregs of the male species.

I don't understand, what on earth is going on in your profile pic?

You must be a great looking guy then.

I highly suggest changing your profile pic for one of a bear. Whether the guy or the animal, it will fend off the creeps.

I'm a guy and I usually never post my real-world pics online, ESPECIALLY not in a mobile game. The internet is just too vast and unknowable to know who's out there or where the pic could end up. The fact that it's COD is just the cherry on top, they're not exactly known for their courtesy and code of chivalry. I'd just go with an avatar that you like and can somehow identify with. And yeah, apologies on behalf of men, there's still quite a ways to go :/
