Today, while my husband was at work, he missed our son saying his first word ("Dada"), taking his first steps and smashing the widescreen TV with a well-aimed teddy bear. Care to guess which of these three things made my husband cry. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

Not wearing a condom?

Sounds like a future quarterback.

It doesn't mean he hates your son. But your kid will have a thousand tiny moments in his life where he does things other kids do. Just because he took a step or spoke doesn't mean your husband is a bad father for being upset something he paid for was destroyed.

But if I understand correctly you are Dutch, won't the WA verzekering cover the damages done by your children? Not sure but you can try, good luck OP!

Im sure most of us men would be pissed about the TV.

And a lot of us women too, those things can be expensive!

I'm not a man and I'd be furious

He cried because he got one strong child

I'm assuming the baby threw the teddy bear at the tv, causing the tv to wobble and then fall down and that's what caused it to smash

The only way I can imagine a teddy bear breaking a TV is if it knocked the tv to the floor. In which case, the tv should have been anchored to the wall, it could have fallen on your son and killed him. Maybe your husband was crying because he realised how close to death your son just came.

I'm going to go with the broken tv

I would cry too. Children are... *shiver* I hope it all ends up well for your sake though.
