Today, while getting ready to welcome my first child into the world, my father in law decided to "help out" and threw out a bunch of papers I needed. Like my child's application for a health card, social insurance number, and my birth plan, as well as instructions from my doctor. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I happily announced to my parents that I'm pregnant. My dad later handed me a printout containing a list of nearby abortion clinics. FML
Today, my mother decided to "help me" by throwing out the stack of papers on my desk. Unfortunately, those were all my notes for my final exams. FML
Get out
Today, I gave birth to my firstborn child. Somehow, my mom and mother-in-law made their way to the delivery room, and walked in mid-push. While they were escorted out, I overheard my mother-in-law asking the nurse how her son, my husband, was holding up. FML
Today, my mom asked me to take my dad's mail to him. The "mail" was divorce papers. FML
Entitled much?
Today, despite being the first to hold all my other grandchildren, despite my son and bitch of a daughter-in-law agreeing I would be the first, I showed up at the hospital to see my daughter-in-law's father holding my grandchild before me. FML
Welcome to the world!
Today, I helped deliver the baby belonging to the woman my husband left me for. FML
Bad memory
Today, I was met with an unfortunate clerical error, receiving a letter from WIC with a cheery handwritten note instructing me to call when the baby arrives. I guess they forgot I was there four months ago to discuss the changes in benefits after a miscarriage. FML
Respect
Today, my mother-in-law took a phone message on the back of my marriage license. FML
Rollercoaster ride of emotions
Today, I went to my dad's workplace because my sister was there and I wanted to see my newborn niece. I was overjoyed until my dad came up to me. It had apparently been pretty hectic for the past week, because he was on the verge of another stress-induced heart attack. Yes, another. We had to help him outside. FML
Today, I had to leave my ACT prep class ten minutes in to pick up my drunken father from his best friend's baby shower. I picked him up along with a bill for the damage. FML

You go throw him out in return.

I'm not above digging through trash if necessary. Get them before they are gone forever.

Not very helpful either. Just riffle through the trash and get it if you can. I know how difficult it was to get all that taken care of as I am about to pop any day now! Best wishes for you and the baby! Good luck!

Throw out his Russian nestling dolls

Have your father in law go through the trash to get that stuff back.

Hopefully you can restore those documents by going to a government agency?

Kids dont come for free, they come with something called responsibility.

@2 And pay a ton of money to replace everything? First, get that man digging through the trash.

Yeah, 52. Definitely OP's fault.

In America, you get to do all that paperwork while you're at the hospital...talk to your nurse and see if Canada is the same way? Don't overstress, enjoy the relaxing days you have at the hospital where you have all those extra hands for help with the newborn!

Do you not understand that his father threw out all important paperwork

I once spent three hours in the big paper trash in front of my student home searching for my work contract. The other students had lots of fun with that but I was successful.

I would be telling the f-i-l to get digging first! but yes someone needs to get in that trash and look!

Ugh, I once had a roommate that threw out my paycheck! I had to go searching through the giant dumpster at our apartment complex for it. If it's not trash, and it's not yours, you don't touch it! That's my rule.

He could have "helped out" more by throwing himself out of a window.

What the hell is his problem?

I agree; big oops moment. He didn't know.
Treveyon56 14
Big oops or not he shouldn't go around throwing away things that aren't his.
B4m1337 9
Haha, he may have just been nervous?
Jake_Hale 7
That's not a legitimate excuse
jkmartinjk 16
So when you're nervous you just throw out everything in sight?
miiapaige 14
Not even his daughter, like damn.

Keep your chin up OP! I'm sure they made copies.
iAlissa 34
How can he mistake such important documents for trash? Imbecile.
Slawter16 24
#9 - Maybe he simply didn't read them, which he should have done. OP, I hope you can at least get copies of those documents.
iAlissa 34
#41 - I hope you're correct. If not, his IQ is about that of a potato.
JE553 9
And how exactly does one go about determining the IQ of a potato?
iAlissa 34
First, see if the potato can count.
Xatraris 38
A potato can help light a lightbulb! So maybe its smarter?

How is that "helping out"?
