Today, the mall I work at started playing Christmas songs on repeat. It's the beginning of November. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my manager made everyone put up Christmas decorations around the store. As well as this, we're going to have Christmas music playing on repeat all the way through to January. It's not even September yet. FML
Today, my boss insisted that we get in the holiday mood by putting up lights, playing Christmas music, and wearing bells on our uniforms. It's not even Thanksgiving yet and I can't even have a tinkle without full-blown jingling. FML
Torture
Today, at my job at the mall, our music malfunctioned and now will only play the same three songs over and over again. Our manager won't let us turn it off because "the customers won't notice". FML
Today, I came home to find my parents wearing Santa hats and blasting Christmas music at full volume. So begins three months of hell. FML
Today, my neighbors coated their house in flashing Christmas lights and blared out "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" all day long. Only 29 days left until Christmas. FML
Today, the Salvation Army stationed one of their obnoxious bell-ringers in the mall right outside my store. My employees and I can wave goodbye to any form of sanity for the next month. FML
Today, at work, I was forced to listen to the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas album on repeat for 8 hours. FML
Today, my boss made me wear reindeer antlers to promote the Christmas spirit. There are still 5 weeks till Christmas. FML
Today, my neighbor installed a large radio that loudly plays Christmas music 24/7. When I called in a complaint to the police department they told me to, "get in the Christmas spirit." FML
Today, and every day this week, my office mate has decided to "liven up the place" by singing and whistling Christmas tunes and other unknown songs. She has zero musical ability. FML

A few weeks ago I was at a rather large retail chain and saw Christmas decorations right across from the Halloween decorations. Dressing as a homicidal Santa Clause for Halloween briefly crossed my mind.

Having spent a few years working in retail I can confirm this is the most soul destroying part of the run up the Christmas. Because nothing enforces Christmas cheer like playing jingle bells on repeat

You think that's bad? My local art store had Christmas decorations in early June.

I work at a craft store that sells stuff for making Christmas cards/decorations/advent calendars etc. and as people like to start early, we already had the first Christmas dedicated aisle up in August. We actually had Christmas stuff up about a month before any Halloween stuff, it was crazy.

I don't think this is okay at all until after Remembrance/Veterans Day

Edit: never mind.

I'd rather they wait until after Thanksgiving. At least this mall waited until after Halloween.

I like how every country seems to have certain ideas about when it's appropriate to start bringing out the christmas stuff. We don't do thanksgiving where I live, but we have St Nicholas (6 december) which is a pretty big deal, so generally stores will have St Nicholas decorations and only start the christmassy stuff after 6 december. Seeing how OP is from Singapore, I wonder if they also have such a "rule".

Working retail is the main reason I hate Christmas now. Totally killed it for me.

Don't worry, December 26th will roll up and then you'll get to see all the Easter decorations appear!

They should be playing all that great Thanksgiving music on a continuous loop! "I got 99 problems and dry turkey ain't one." is my personal favorite.

It's beginning to look a lot like November

Just be thankful they decorate, Here in Oz they don't anymore for the most part because it may offend some prick.
