Today, one of my coworkers asked if I hated my life and was depressed because of how I look most of the time. This is just my facial expression. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my boss called me into his office and bitched me out for a good half hour for my attitude to our customers. Apparently I always look pissed off and sound sarcastic. That's just my face at rest. FML
Today, a colleague said I looked “different” and I thought it was a compliment. It turns out they meant that I looked “tired and stressed.” I smiled awkwardly and said, “Thanks?” while internally dying. FML
Today, after weeks of everyone at work avoiding me, I finally asked my coworker what was up. She informed me, “You’re 350lbs and try to dress like an office siren, it’s pathetic to look at.” FML
Today, all of my friends and teachers asked me what was wrong because I looked sad and tired. One kid even said that I looked like "an abused housewife the day after." I was fine. It was the first time I went to school without wearing any makeup. FML
Today, I was feeling sad and depressed at work, when a customer said, “Smile. It’s nice and sunny outside.” Sunny weather makes me depressed. FML
Today, I was let go from an unpaid internship. The reasons cited was that I seemed unhappy at work. No, that's just my face. FML
Today, I had lunch with a coworker, and after having a good talk and enjoying each others company, we got up to leave. Right before we said goodbye, she looked me right in the face and, looking legitimately confused, said, "You know, I really don't understand why no one at work likes you." FML
Today, I decided not to wear any makeup. I got told 13 times at work that I looked ill. FML
Today, at work, I was making an appointment for an old lady who told me, "You look like a movie star!" I started to thank her when she followed up with, "Like that girl from the horror movie! Your black hair and pale skin makes you look scary! Oh, sorry…" with the coworker I hate the most sitting right next to me. FML
Today, I got fired from my job because I "look too grumpy." FML

I have both a friend and someone I know at work who always look angry with their idle faces. When you actually talk to them their faces are lively and full of smiles, but just walking around you'd assume they were grumps.

This is me. I look more sad/depressed apparently. I see no reason to smile if you're not doing anything. Wouldn't it look creepier if u see a guy walking with a huge smile on his face, every time he looks at someone?

Oh my gosh, I get this all the time. Sometimes, I just lie and say that I'm tired or something to save myself the embarrassment of saying, "it's just my face".

Maybe you should try to smile more often, it usually brightens up your face. If you already do, I'm not sure what to suggest... Although that was a bit extreme on their part.

Maybe it's because OP doesn't smile when she thinks. Same thing happens to me: I'll be going somewhere with my mom, looking out the window, and she'll just be like, "Why are you so upset?" But in actuality it isn't that I'm upset, I just have a blank face when I think hard. Smile with me, OP :)

Forcing a smile can be just as bad. Makes you feel self-conscious and unable to relax and the smile often appears faked. OP just has Bitchy Resting Face. Not much you can do about that. It's becoming more of a well known thing though so hopefully in the future more people will understand and fewer people will stop telling us sufferers to cheer up!

I knew someone like that. Poor thing looked angry and constipated and like she was about to burst in to a fit of rage all at once. Someone had made a similar comment to her that was made to you OP and she gave him a spook one time to show off her 'look and facial expressions' and then lived happily ever after. Embrace your uniqueness. It made her happy so I'm hoping it will work on you too.
