Today, I realized one of my best friends was only friends with me because I would take her shopping, spoil her regularly, and help her out financially. She moved to another province and only contacted me whenever she wanted money. After I refused a couple of times, she deleted me on Facebook. FML

Today, my best friend told me she didn't want to be my friend anymore, because she wanted to start afresh in college and have pretty friends. FML
Today, my best friend, who I speak to pretty much all day, every single day, started dating someone and blocked and ghosted me. I guess my only close friend wasn't such a good friend after all. FML
Today, my best friend told me she no longer wants an "active friendship" with me. She says she doesn't have time to see me, since she has a boyfriend and a bunch of friends she's spent years bitching to me about. We've gone from a 14-year friendship to awkwardly nodding at each other in the street. FML
Today, I realised my bestie ditched me for her best friend, which was fine because it's her first. But then I found out she's been hanging out with other new friends and never once thought to hit me up, until I messaged her about feeling sad we hadn't hung out in a while because of the pandemic. Guess it wasn't just the pandemic. FML
Today, I broke ties with a friend of mine. She said I was her only friend and asked me not to interact with others normally. I'd had enough, and asked her not to bother me again. Then I found out that everyone liked her better and left me alone for lunch, even though she's a gaslighter. FML
Today, I got dumped by a friend because she said I was "too much." She's treated me like shit and basically ignored me at times since the beginning of the school year, in favor of hanging out with another friend. I guess years of friendship really can disappear overnight. FML
Today, my best friend’s girlfriend took his phone and blocked me on Facebook, all because I wrote him a heartfelt Happy Birthday message on his wall. I found out because he messaged me from another account explaining what happened. She refuses to understand that we’re strictly platonic friends. FML
Today, I woke up realizing that not even the scammer that I told I would pay for her friendship wanted to be my friend. FML
Today, I found out my parents paid my "best friend" to be my friend for the past 7 years. She's my only friend too. FML
Today, a close, funny friend who has quite the attitude, received a long email from a long-time friend of hers, telling her how difficult she is. When I told her it doesn’t matter, that she is still wonderful, she went off on how bad a friend I am for saying that, and then deleted me off WhatsApp. FML

Hopefully you learned this lesson before you spent too much on her. Think of it like this: Those who ask you for moneey the most are the ones who usually deserve (And appreciate) it the least. By continually giving handouts to someone, you start to make them feel entitled to them. Find someone who loves you for who you are, not what you can buy them.

Sorry you had to learn an unpleasant life lesson that way. At some point I think most of us have experienced that with friends or relatives. When we care about people we naturally want to help them if we can and there is a need. But then there are some who would abuse that and then have no respect for the giver. Best to find out now who is a real friend than to let it go on too long. You are a good person, there will be other friends in your life soon enough. In the end, it's not good for the one who always lets others fix their problems either - They learn manipulation and dependence instead of useful life skills.
