Today, my tire was a little low on air. I decided to put in a can of Fix-A-Flat and drive home. Since it was 10 degrees outside and snowing, the can became frozen to the valve. When I finally got the can off, I had ruined the valve, so I had to put on the spare tire. It was flat too. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got a flat tire. The spare was also flat, so I had no other choice but to walk home. I got to my house and realized I'd left the front door key and garage clicker in my car 5 miles away. FML
Tired
Today, I left home to go to work, only to find that my car had a flat tyre. No problem, I thought, I'll just change it. That's when I discovered that I'd left my spare tyre at the mechanic's last time I had a flat. FML
Today, my mom and I had to shovel our driveway after an epic snowstorm that left us with 22 inches of snow. We only needed to dig out my mom's car and not mine. After we did all that work and shoveled all the snow onto the side where my car was we found out my mom had a flat tire. FML
Today, I got a rental car because my car needed new tires and I had a long drive ahead of me. Today, the rental car got a flat tire. FML
Today, at 5:30 on a Sunday, I noticed my tire had a bubble in it. I found a tire shop 15 minutes away that would be closing at 6pm and made it there in time, but the shop had closed early. I left to try and make it to the next one and had a blow out. FML
Silver linings
Today, I was driving into work in my hubby’s truck. It’s his pride and joy. I managed to both get a flat tire and lock my keys inside the truck at a gas station, with my face mask also inside. Oh, and it’s 19 degrees. At least it’s sunny. FML
Vacation blues
Today, I was headed on vacation with my family. On the way, our trailer tire blew out. Because the trailer was tilted from the flat tire, the door would not open to get the spare. After breaking the window to get the spare and putting it on, the spare blew out. FML
Today, I went in my car to a very important job interview. I was out of gas, so I had to get some on the way. When i was done pumping, I went to get back in and the door handle broke off on the driver's side. Then I blew a tire on a piece of metal. Needless to say, I lost my chance. FML
Today, my dad didn't mention he had just aired up the tire on my van and that it might have a hole in it. It wasn't flat when I left the house but it sure as hell was when it exploded, not even a mile down the road. FML
Goddamn it
Today, I came back from a 700-mile round trip. I hit a massive pothole I couldn't avoid and blew out a tire and bent my rim. I was less than a mile from my house. FML

1) Fix-a-flat is WORTHLESS. 2) Why use it to put in a tire that isn't flat in the first place? Idiot. 3) It leaves a nasty residue on your tire and rim. That wheel will never be able to achieve balance. And the person who will change your tire will kick your ass. 4) Always check your spare tire. There should be a flashing neon YDI for you, dumbass.

A tire being 'low' on air is NOT A REASON to use Fix-A-Flat (for FLAT tires, as in a hole is poked through and it WON'T hold air). Fix-A-Flat does NOT air up your tire. It only pours in a thick goop to temporarily patch a hole so that you can then ADD air so it would HOLD air.....Weather changes cause your air pressure to fluctuate, even monthly, or every couple of weeks. Sorry, my husband began his career as a tire tech, so this just makes me want to call you retarded!! Oh yeah, and the guy that repairs your tire will seriously curse you for using that crap...

Take your car to a "real" garage for oil changes, they should check your spare for you unlike some of the chain stores. You should still check your equipment like spares and jacks yourself if only for peace of mind. Buy a small compressor, they are cheap and in the summer you can use it to blow up beach toys.

Emm..before you left work or wherever you were comming from you should have noticed that your tire was flat. Tires only get punctures it they were already flat. 1. Yout should have cecked to see if your tire was flat given the driving conditions. 2. Those cheap fix it from a can sh1t never work and are a danger to everyone. 3. your should ALWAYS (no excuses) Check if your SPARE tire is flat even if you dont need it. 4. ALL OF THE ABOVE AR ONLY COMMON SENSE!

Even if you didn't screw up using Fix a Flat the tire would have been ruined after a short while driving it. That stuff destroys your tire. You should have a mini air compressor that plugs into your cigarette outlet. Takes some time to fill, but you get the air you need and don't ruin your tire.

Bit silly of OP but i bet it was a pretty harsh experience.. i feel for ya!

Heat expands, cold contracts. This basic principal works on air too. Cold weather = air takes up less space = flatter tire. Your tires were both probably just fine. Add some more air, and remember to let it out when it gets warm again.

fix a flat does work well enough to get you to the shop. i've used it twice but not because my tire was low on air (it was completely flat). The fix-a-flat does inflate your tire and adds the goup, although the tire mechanics weren't too happy they had to deal with it. Oh and there's a warning on the can that fix-a-flat doesn't work in freaking cold ass weather. YDI.

It's for flats tires. As in, punctures etc. It's not just canned air. Are you retarded?

I used fix-a-flat on a puncture on my old car about 6 years ago. I know you are supposed to just use the stuff till you get to a garage but at the time I was in college and broke. I drove around on it like that for years. The car got totaled earlier this year otherwise I'm sure it'd still be going.

Well then, I'm going to check my spare.
