Today, my son tried to swat a fly with a hammer. Our apartment walls are now littered with dents and holes. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after twelve straight hours of work, my fourteen year old son surprised me with a broken window and a cracked TV. He said, "I was swatting away a fly." FML
Today, I walked into my son's room only to be attacked by a swarm of flies. I'm afraid to go back in there. FML
Lightbulb moment
Today, I tried to smack a fly that was buzzing around my room. I ended up hitting the wall a little too hard, scaring my cat, who jumped up and ran under the bed, knocking over a lamp. The fly is fine. FML
Today, my 15-year-old son got so enraged at a fly that kept harassing him, that he ended up slapping himself in the face as it flew by him. This caused him to fall out of his chair, at which point he broke down into a mess of tears, humiliating me in front of everyone. FML
Wild child
Today, my wife asked our 17 year-old son to clean his room. Following up, he lied to his mom and said it was clean. After rechecking his room, he began to throw things and I returned to find holes punched in the walls. I went and patched the holes, after which he immediately kicked more holes. FML
Wasps, what the **** do they want?
Today, a wasp somehow got into my parents' house, so I went hunting for it with my dad. I found it and, after getting into position, took a strong swing at it with a fly swatter. Unfortunately, being very uncoordinated, I missed. You can figure out the rest. FML
Today, I was trying to swat a wasp in my bedroom. I got so frustrated that I ended up punching myself in the face. The wasp is still here, and now I look like I've been in a brawl. FML
Today, my son hit my husband's shop-vac while pulling into the garage too fast. He was grounded for 3 days. Later, while trying to demonstrate how to park safely, I hit my husband in his happy sacks with the mirror. FML
Today, I put up one of those hanging fly catchers in my room due to the unsettling amount of flies in the house. I remarked how stupid flies were to land on them. Within an hour, I got up and walked straight into it. FML
Today, I ruined my computer screen trying to kill a fly. FML

Your son is an idiot.

If he had actually managed to kill it I would be impressed. I can barely get those things with a fly swatter

Maybe #1 was so excited to be first he forgot to clarify. Perhaps he meant to say, "why didn't you stop him after the first time?"

Number 1's picture fits perfectly with his comment... He doesn't know what he's talking about.

I love all the idiots above commenting on reading, when they can't. #1's question is vallad. You idiots the op said holeS and dentS as in more then one. So why didn't the op stop his son after the first attempt? Unless he's like the morons above who would just watch, according to their comments.

Reading the replies are to #1 are making me lol.

#134, maybe OP wasn't home at the time. It's difficult to stop your kid from smashing up the house if you're not around, in my opinion

I moderated this FML, and the original specified that the son was both young and severely autistic. ...The more you know!

Hey, now, I often confuse flyswatters and hammers! Explains why it took so long for me to build my house.

Yeah the son should get screened for trisomy-21 before something else like this happens.

I believe OP's son is one of the Marvel Heroes, to have left dents in the wall from trying to swat a fly.

Maybe you shouldnt have dropped him as a child

If you master the art of the Shaolin, you'll be able to catch the fly's legs in your fingers without harming it, then release it in the apartments of those who threaten the Shaolin way.

I wish:(

Only real men use a hammer to swat away flies
BradTheBrony 19
Really? I snipe them off of sandwiches (I live across the street from a Subway) from my balcony. With a slingshot.
McMike10 1
Did he get it?
jdb241 9
I think the real question is "is it dead?"
Ferretface 13
I'm pretty sure that if a fly were to be hit with a hammer it would die.
metalwolf 17
Is it still dead then? There are plenty of movies about dead thing no longer being dead and attacking.
ChrisG93 8
You may need to discuss with your son the difference between a flyswatter and a hammer.
llamafish 25
Did he ever get the fly?

This is off topic but I laughed too hard at your picture. I love ika chan

He takes the trouble to redecorate for you and all you do is complain.

You better get to work with the patches, spackle, and paint.
