Today, my sister was upset because she felt like no one liked her. Without thinking, I replied, "It's okay. If I acted like you, people would probably hate me, too." This sounded sympathetic in my head. FML

Today, I told my mom she made me feel unloved my whole life. She called my sister and apologized. FML
Today, my sister was dumped by her boyfriend. As my mother was comforting her, I overheard her say "Honey, it's okay, you're the pretty one. Think of those worse off than you. Think of your sister, she might never get a boyfriend." FML
Today, my sister teased me about being a mistake baby. When I told my mom what my sister said, her response was "I still love you anyway". FML
Today, my family and I were visiting an aunt. While helping my aunt to set the table, my sister remarked that from behind I look exactly like her. I reflexively blurted out, "Well fuck you too." Very awkward silence. FML
Today, I got in an argument with my teacher for always comparing me to my sister that she had a few years before. After I said, "I'm not my sister so please stop comparing me to her," she responded, "Of course you're not your sister, I actually like your sister." FML
Today, my little sister came up to me and said, "Aww, don't be sad. Even ugly people can get boyfriends." She then smiled, patted my back, and walked off. I wasn't actually sad before, but I am now. FML
Today, my sister blamed me for everything again. We're twins and have the same friends, but they all like her better because she's an extrovert and I'm an introvert, and I'm sick of her getting mad at me, copying me, blaming me and making my life miserable for no reason. Why does everyone think I'm so pathetic? FML
Today, I said something in class and someone mimicked me. In a self-pitying mood, I exclaimed, "Everybody hates me!" The girl behind me then said, "Pretty much." FML
Today, my sister asked me if any of my family members had commented on my recent weight gain. I told her, "No, not really." Her reply? "They must just being saying it behind your back then." FML
Today, I was complaining to my sister about how jealous I was of her looks. Her response was "Sometimes it's okay to be the ugly sister. Like, you have less of a chance of getting raped." FML

Hey, every once in a while people feel kinda down about themselves. Who knows, maybe she acknowledged your mistake and found it funny in the end, or maybe the complete opposite reaction happened. In the end though, you tried at least :D

This really does sound like the FML is on the sisters behalf. "Today, I was feeling really down about myself and felt like no one liked me. My usually sweet and sympathetic sister suddenly blurted out, 'if I acted like you, everyone would hate me too'. FML." This seems more like a FHL.

Well, it's good that you tried to be sympathetic. Explain that you didn't mean what you said, that you stumbled over your words and didn't really understand what you were saying before you said it. Best of luck, OP.

At least you were trying to make her feel better. I'm sure she'll understand what you meant when you explain it. But for next time think things through before you say them, especially to those in these delicate situations.
