Today, my sister in law threatened to call CPS on me because I “starved” her children when they spent the night. I didn’t starve them. I made an actual home cooked meal instead of the microwaveable or fast food crap she constantly feeds them. They chose not to eat and threw tantrums instead. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I bought ingredients for one of my favorite meals and went home to take a nap. When I woke up, my sister had cooked them for everyone else in the house, who ate it all without me. I was told that I shouldn't be angry, but instead proud of my adult sister because, "She cooked!" FML
911 is a joke
Today, I came home from work. I was really tired and told my son that I would make him dinner later. He called the cops saying, "Mommy won't feed me." FML
Playing favorites
Today, I was making dinner for my family while my wife was at work. She walked in the door with McDonald's, even though she knew I was cooking. Then our kids saw and started screaming that they wanted McDonald's too and that it was unfair. I've told her not to pull this shit and she won't listen. FML
Poor good boy
Today, after an emergency, my sister’s kids had to spend the night at my house. While I was asleep, they absolutely trashed my place top to bottom. In the morning my sister came in, said, “Wow, what a mess! Bye!” without offering to help clean up or make her kids do it. They drew on my dog. FML
Today, my mom tried to ground me. In the apartment that I own. Because I didn't eat enough of the dinner that I'd made. FML
Unpaid
Today, I informed my daughter-in-law that I’m a granny, not an unpaid, on-call 24/7 babysitter, and no, I will not be babysitting her kids all day so she can go to an all-day brunch with her similarly selfish girlfriends. She threw an actual tantrum and threatened to put me in a home. FML
Proportional response
Today, my pathetic wannabe influencer sister would not stop recording my kids, even though they and I told her not to. I finally snapped and smashed her phone and now she's threatening to press charges, and our parents are on her side. My kids are scared that they're going to be taken away from me. FML
Strong bond
Today, my mom called, crying that my sister had dropped her kids off on my mom’s doorstep with no intention of coming back for them. I called and screamed at my sister, who then called my brother, who screamed at me for making my sister cry. All of this because her new boyfriend doesn’t like her kids. FML
Drive thru
Today, my entitled brother-in-law called me unannounced as I was having lunch and asked if I had food for him and his wife. I said, "The food I have at home will only be enough for my husband." Now I'm the villain for not cooking enough for sudden unexpected mealtime visitors. FML
Great parenting
Today, my sister is upset that I won’t upturn my entire life by letting her kids stay at my house 4-5 days a week. She decided to move in with her boyfriend after one month, before even introducing him to her kids. Now he’s decided he doesn’t like the kids, so she wants me to keep them. FML

I'm not certain where you grew up, but from where I am from, if I am sitti g your kids then I feed your kids... With what I make, which is the same thing my kids eat, if your kids refuse to eat fine then the get the same treatment as my kids would get... You don't wanna eat that's fine, but legally I am required to provide you meals, not force you to eat them, let her call CPS, law is on my side for this, lol

Did they call you a nazi too? That's normally the next step in refusing good things and throwing tantrums

Tell her to call them. If she tells them that you refused to give them junk food like she does, they will investigate her instead.

I have twin nephews who used to be like that. I couldn't figure out why they weren't getting hungry when they didn't eat; then I realized they were stuffing their backpacks with candy before leaving home. New rule at my house, no candy until meals are over. Had a couple of days of terrible attitude, but they eventually learned that even though the tacos, hamburgers, sloppy joes, and pasta that I make didn't come out of a box in the freezer, they aren't completely inedible.

Easy solution. They want a night off in the future they make alternate arrangements as you no longer look after their children.

What did you make? How do you know if they liked it or not? How old are the kids? How long did they stay with you? Frankly sleepovers I wouldn't try to make someone else's children eat something, especially if I don't know if they like it or not. It'd be all about the kids. Next time make what they like and see if they'll snack on something healthy.
