Today, my roommates keep opening my bedroom door to "let the WiFi out." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, we finally got wireless Internet. My mom won't let us open any doors or windows in fear that it might "let the Internet out". It's 103 degrees in here. FML
Bunch of freeloaders...
Today, after having my Wi-Fi unlocked for two years, I decided to lock it since it was running slowly. Everybody in my apartment building came to my door and asked me why I did it. I've been unknowingly providing free Wi-Fi to the entire building for years, but now that it's protected I'm getting constant dirty looks. FML
Today, my roommate has gone home for the weekend. She forgot to turn her alarm clock off. Her door is locked. FML
Today, I woke up to my roommate's friend rustling in the attic without permission to be there. When I asked how he got in with all doors and windows locked, he simply said, "It's a secret." FML
Today, my dick of a roommate was moving out. She didn't actually tell us she was moving out and took the wifi, modem and all, while my other roommate was on a Skype call and I was watching a show. All with no warning. It's Saturday, I have an online assignment due Sunday. FML
Send help!
Today, I've managed to lock myself in my own bedroom. It won't open no matter what I do. FML
Today, my roommate asked me to lock the door as we left our place. I told her to use my keys, because my hands were full. Afterwards, she and her boyfriend set off out of town for the next couple of days. She forgot to give me back my keys. FML
Today, I was unloading things into a hotel. As I went to get a bag out in the hallway, the room door closed and I had no key. When I knocked and asked my family to let me back in, no one answered. The doors are clearly not soundproof. I could hear them debating whether or not to let me back in. FML
Today, I was doing a job interview on Skype when my roommate decided to reboot the wireless router because "the internet was too slow". The interviewer didn't bother calling again. FML
GET UP
Today, I left the apartment door open so the construction workers sent by our landlord could work in the kitchen, while I slept in after working a late shift. They knocked on the bedroom door at 7 a.m., asking me to move the bed. FML

The roommates are leeching off OP's WiFi from the sound of it, or the router is based in their room. Either way, it sounds like OP should invest in a lock so they stop being not only idiots but also stop violating OP's privacy.

The stupidity in that.

Wouldn't you want to keep it in?

I think the router is in OPs room and that they share it, but the roommate thinks the door is going to block the wifi

What does OP mean?

Not necessarily.... depending on what the door is made of it could reduce the signal strength...

I agree

Do you have lead doors?

Who let the WiFi out? Who, who, who, who?

Technically traveling through any barriers such as walls or floors of a building could diminish the signal strength, but I seriously doubt 1 door is making that much of s difference.

I suppose it depends on what the door is made of as different materials are likely to have a different effect on signal strength. However, if it's a standard wooden door I doubt it makes much difference.

What does opening/closing the door have to do with the wifi Signal. I think your roommate forgot to take their crazy pills.

It actually would make a difference. However, the difference would be negligible unless the door was made from something heavy duty (like a safe door).

does your roomie cuddle with it and take it for long walks throughout silicon Valley?

I assumed this was because OP spends all of their time in their room on the internet, thus "hogging" the Wi-Fi, so the roommates thought they would be funny by attempting to "set it free".

Mannn, now I'm suddenly unsure of what this FML means when I was SO sure of what it meant around 15 seconds okay. Gee, thanks. lol.

*15 seconds ago. My auto correct is weird..

it actually is quite effective when the signal strength is not very strong to begin with or the walls are made of concrete and the door are heavy duty as well. your roomie just had a funny way of saying it.

As an alternative, you could make them tin foil hats.
