Today, I got my annual blood test. The nurse was inexperienced and it took her several tries to insert the needle properly. When I get back home, my fiancé starts yelling at me and storms out. The reason? I am a recovering drug addict and my arm appeared as if I had been shooting up. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I decided to give blood for the second time. I felt excrutiating pain when she stuck the needle in my arm. Another nurse came running over in a panic. Apparently my inexperienced nurse had put it in my tendon instead of my vein. FML
Today, I went for bloodwork. It's routine for me, so I was ready for the nurse to put in the needle and take my blood. It went in fine, but right after, she slowly pulled the needle out, then wondered why the blood stopped. She then moved it back and forth in my arm while I panicked silently. FML
Today, I had to go to the hospital to get blood taken. The nurse mentioned how pronounced and easy to see my veins are. I guess that explains why she missed five times in a row. I'm surprised my arm doesn't look like a heroin addict's right now. FML
Today, I went to get my blood drawn to see how far along I am pregnant. The lady stuck both my arms twice and then busted a vein in my right arm. She told me to come back tomorrow to try again. FML
Today, I had to get bloodwork done. I'm deathly afraid of needles. The whole lobby heard me scream as soon as the nurse said 'hello'. FML
Today, my needle-phobic mother took me to get a shot. She fainted. FML
Today, I went to the blood bank to donate plasma. All went well until the machine went to return my red blood cells. It turns out the nurse sliced my vein and the blood built up in my tissues. I now have a massive swollen arm and bruising, and look like a junkie. FML
Today, I went to the doctor to get a blood test and I started crying when I saw the needle. I planned on becoming a doctor. FML
Today, I went to a blood drive. The nurse taking my blood mentioned that she'd been called in on her day off, and she swore she wasn't drunk. I didn't know what to do, so I just smiled and blinked back tears as she savaged the vein in my arm. FML
Today, I had to give a 63 year old man a shot. He started bawling before I even brought out the needle. I tried to get him calm down. Then he grabbed the needle, threw it at me and ran out the door. FML

Hey, at least you're recovering and you have a fiance. That's good. Your life is good.

This FML is too convenient to be true. I call shenanigans.

There's nothing to explain. This FML is FAKE because those who have ever injected themselves with drugs or other substances not prescribed by a physician can't donate blood.

they weren't donating, they were getting a blood test...

Blood TEST. Fail right there.

yeah got that. i read it too fast. geesh.

I double the call of shenanigans. Blood drawing rarely leaves noticeable marks, whereas shooting up is certainly more obvious. Fake FML

can't you just explain to him that it was the doctor..? if you're not shooting up, it shouldn't appear again so then he won't be mad for long

Yeah. Props, OP.

How is this an FML? It's a simple misunderstanding thats fixed with about 30 seconds of explaining.

He probably won't believe her since it is common for drug addicts who make a relapse to at first deny what try are doing. She'll tell him and even if he says okay (which may take a while of convincig), he will be ultra suspicious. FYL OP, you're doing the right thing, but, due to your addiction, people are almost always going to assume the worst.

theres not much you can do right now. let it die down and try to call him and explain. i can understand how he feels though also. my brother is also recovering, and we cant help but think the worst when things go missing or he doesnt call for a while.. :/

yes true but everybody can come up with a simple lie like that and it takes some people a lot to belive in what others are saying.

Good for you for recovering from your problem! I'm sure your fiancé will understand once you explain :)

That's jumping to conclusions, overreacting and being a bitch all at the same time! Your fiance's 3 for 3 Just explain it to her. It's not a huge deal.

I agree. I hate FMLs like these that are about people who are supposed to "trust" you jumping to the wrong conclusions without any chance to explain. Yes, the OP might look like she was relapsing, but he could have asked her about it instead of yelling at her then storming out.

your fiancé is a nucklehead and will feel like an idiot when he finds out the circumstances. no nookie for a week for punishment

FYL: Your fiance doesn't trust you enough to hear your story before leaping to a negative conclusion. YDI: Since you've obviously got more experience than the nurse you should have shown her how to do it

LOL... :D

Well if the nurse was having trouble why didn't you help her out, if you have experience using needles? Honestly no disrespect, kudos for the recovery
