Today, my mum took away my laptop and my phone and won't let me call, text, or go out with friends for one month. Why? I left the toilet seat up. I'm writing this from a public library. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I briefly left my laptop while I went to use the toilet. When I came back, I found "I" had posted on Facebook, calling my mom a "stupid cunt who should just stay in the kitchen." The only other person home at the time was my grandpa. She didn't believe it, and permanently grounded me. FML
Today, my parents took away my laptop, TV, Xbox, and car all because I broke up with my girlfriend. They said when I patch things up with her, I can have my stuff back. FML
Controlling
Today, my mom took my phone away because of a huge mistake I made, which we need to go to court for. I own the actual phone but they pay for the line. I'm autistic with severe anxiety. I'm also 34 years-old. FML
Screens
Today, I got home from a hard day and sent a project due tomorrow from my laptop. While I was in the bathroom, my parents took my laptop, which is all paid by me for no reason. I tried telling them multiple times that I have 3 projects due this week, but they said that's not a reason to stay on my laptop. FML
Today, my little sister got mad at me because I wouldn't let her read my IM conversation. I took a nap and when I woke up, my laptop was gone. She took it on a trip to her grandparents' house, six hours away. Nude pictures of me and my paper due tomorrow are on the laptop. FML
Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML
Today, my mom took away my car, phone, dog, laptop and college fund because I told her she lets me down sometimes. I'm moving to Arizona for college in two weeks. FML
Get out
Today, my mother kicked me out of the house because her new boyfriend needs my room. Evidently he also needs my credit card, passport, and wallet too, because she kept all three, while tossing everything else out on the lawn. FML
Today, my mom took my cell to work with her. When she got home later, she scolded me for not answering her calls. When I pointed out that she'd taken it, she grounded me for "talking back". FML
Selfish
Today, my mom yelled at me because I refused to lend her money. The reason I won't lend her money? The last time I did, she and my dad went out and bought a Macbook and a new car instead of paying bills. Apparently, I'm being 'selfish' by keeping my own money and putting it towards university. FML

Your mom needs to let up. That's ridiculous

You should get back at her by putting one of those rubber poop monsters under the toilet lid. It'll pop up when she opens it. It might extend your punishment but it'll send a harsh message about the horrors of a lowered toilet seat.

my bathroom doesn't have a light and if it's night I can't see. also there's two bathrooms. one for girls and one for boys. if a guy decides to use my bathroom, then they should respect the rules. I shouldn't have to look every single time if they don't use mine often. it's my bathroom so I won't be expecting something like that. personally I'd prefer the seat up than to sit in piss because the guy has horrible aim. I have to admit I have fallen into toilets because I wasn't paying attention, but nothing is more gross than getting your brothers pee on your buttocks because he has trouble aiming. that feeling is so gross. think of it this way. it's like you're going to sit down but then someone pulls the chair out and you fall on your ass. you didn't look because you weren't expecting it. it's not exactly the same but you get my point?

If you've ever fallen into a toilet in the middle of the night or can't-hold-it-any-longer dash, then you'd understand the importance of putting the seat down. YDI.

this is like a guy complaining someone left the lid down so he pissed everywhere.

Yeah, because you're gonna piss or shit your pants in the 2 seconds it takes for you to put the seat down.

I trained my husband to always put the entire lid down (not just the seat) for sanitary reasons. YDI for spewing germs all over her toothbrush.
Jirekianu2 19
fun fact. those germs are all over the toothbrush and all over your house. just in low concentrations.

What kind of logic is that, 56? "There's germs everywhere anyway, so why bother taking any steps to be clean or sanitary"? No one can be 100% germ-free, but civilized people at least make an effort.

My view of this post all depends on how many times did your mom tell you NOT to leave the toilet seat up? If it was the millionth time, she probably got pissed and said screw it, im going to make his life hell

I think the consequences are a little harsh, but you gotta drop that toilet seat man!

I feel like parents use those as excuses to take away your things :/

i grew up as the youngest of 16, and in that house, you double checked everything you touched and were about to use. so it's a two way street, it isn't entirely guys fault.

Honestly i don't know why that's a big deal, they end up washing their hands anyway
