Today, my mother told her friends that I work as a call girl. I'm a call center agent. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
New hire
Today, my mom started her new job; she's now my new coworker. She's already told the other girl I'd said she talks too much, and has berated me for not calling her "Mom" while at work. FML
Today, my mom decided to have a get together at my house while I was at work. When I came home, she pulled me aside and asked me to pretend to be her maid. FML
Today, I start work in an office, with my mother. FML
Reunited
Today, I accidentally called my boss "Mom." Now she is jokingly telling everyone that I'm the long-lost daughter she gave up for adoption, because she knew I'd be a failure. FML
Bizarre Love Triangle
Today, my mom got me a job working for the man she's cheating on my dad with. My dad doesn't know that she's cheating, and my mom doesn't know that I know. It's just awkward. FML
Who is this?
Today, a telemarketer called and asked if they could speak to my "Mommy or Daddy." I'm 25 years old. FML
Mom of the year
Today, I went to a restaurant that I always go to, and one of the cute waiters gave me a discount. My mother called me a whore in the middle of the restaurant, then slapped me when I cried. FML
We all hate cold callers
Today, while working at my call center, I took a phone call. The guy on the other line just yelled "FUCK YOU!" twice at the top of his lungs before hanging up on me. But of course, the phone agent is always at fault. FML
Suck it up
Today, I work as a phone agent at a call center, which frequently brags about their awards as the "best workplace ever" because of their working conditions. In reality, we have to suck it up and ignore the burnouts from phone calls with Karen customers, and with the wage I get paid, I can barely make ends meet. FML
Tech support
Today, my mom has been calling me every ten minutes, asking me questions about her new computer. She called me at work, and I rudely answered her question. She called back, talked to my boss, saying she was a customer that called in, and I was rude to her. FML

Oh come on.... there's only a slight difference there ;-) Seriously though, explain to your mom what the difference is. I'm sure she'll clear it up right away.

i've worked in a call center for a few dozen products, the women got harassed a lot because there are idiots who don't get there is a difference between a woman selling erection pills and a woman willing to give you an erection. i sold other things, cookware, lawn equipment, but the sex pills calls were nightmares.

FYL, op. at least your mom thinks highly of you if she is bragging about you to her friends? I guess that's a bright side to the situation of there is one? haha

One of my uncles was a bus driver, and when I was younger and naive (and excited about learning new words), I would consistently and mistakenly brag to random strangers that he worked for an escort service.

call center agents are some of the worst people to walk this planet, YDI

Hmm. Sounds like she knows the difference but 'titled' it wrong when telling her friends. Hopefully if you tell her, she'll correct it next time she sees them. To some old-timers though, that's what it means. I believe I've heard my own mom use the term when referencing a call center as well.

That happened to me once. I was working the elections, and my little brother told my psychotic religious grandmother that I was working the "polls." She misunderstood and fit hit the shan as soon as I got home.
