Today, my in-laws decided they were going to stay an extra week during our vacation to Dominican Republic next year. This would be fine, if we weren't travelling for our destination wedding, and the extra week wasn't our honeymoon. They are literally joining us on our honeymoon. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
This is gonna be fun
Today, my fiancé suggested we bring his elderly mother with us on our honeymoon. FML
Pushover
Today, my in-laws invited themselves to stay at my house for a few days. They live out of state and have been self-quarantining for months. The reason for visiting? So they can throw a party for extended family at our house. Guess who'll end up doing all the work and clean up? FML
Today, it's the first day of our honeymoon. My bride just informed me that she invited her ex-husband to come, so he can spend time with the kids. He will be here in 4 hours. FML
Today, I found out that I have to reschedule my upcoming honeymoon because my office will be understaffed that week, due to the boss going on vacation right after my wedding. Oh, yeah, and he's in my bridal party. FML
Today, I found out that my fiancé's parents are refusing to pay for a honeymoon, because they "didn't have one, so neither will we", meaning they won't pay for a single thing for our wedding. FML
You really shouldn't have
Today, I was awakened by knocking on my door, only to find my parents standing there. Turns out, they booked two one-way tickets to visit me from another country. Their plan? I should scrap my upcoming 2-week vacation to hang out because they invested in this trip. Oh, and they didn't book a hotel. I'm 31. FML
Today, my fiancée decided to go on a "vacation." Our wedding is tomorrow. FML
Run Hide Fright
Today, my husband and I are here on holiday in Rome, Italy. We both made chit-chat to an older couple who are staying at the same hotel as us. They've tried to spend everyday with us, even going to the same cafes and museums, where we are. We now try and avoid them; we end up hiding. We're here for another week. FML
Red flag
Today, my boyfriend bought us plane tickets to Mexico for our "Honeymoon". This would be nice if he had proposed and if we'd been dating for longer than 2 weeks. FML
Controlling
Today, two days into our honeymoon, my mother-in-law turned up at our Spa hotel and pretended it was a huge coincidence. We are an 8-hour flight away, yet she tried to claim she had a Spa coupon about to expire, from another country. Nice try Linda you nosy, interfering bitch. FML

How about just telling them no? you gotta set the boundaries early on, or they'll just do as they please and never respect you.

Just copulate aggressively and loudly the first night and see if they still want to join you for the next six days.

why don't you tell them that you don't feel comfortable with that and that you want to be alone with your husband/wife....

What do you expect people to do for a "destination wedding"? Spend all that money, then turn around and leave?

They could go before the wedding and not stay after

Do any couples take into account the cost for guests to attend a destination wedding? From experience, I think most guests of destination weddings will incorporate a vacation at the same time/location to make it cost effective. You have essentially decided their vacation location for them and now you're angry at them? "Please spend $100's to travel to our wedding, but leave the location immediately following the reception, do not pass Go, do not collect $200"... Sorry I digress.

They could easily go a week before the wedding for their vacation.

Are your in-laws by any chance Marie & Frank Barone?

So it is ok to expect them to pay out to attend your wedding because you chose to get married abroad but when they want to make the most of have flights etc and extend it into a 2 week holiday (as this May have to be their holiday for the year) you take objection? This is why we are travelling onwards for our honeymoon, if people want to continue their holiday they can.

I think they're well within their rights to stay for an extra week. Traditionally, after the wedding, you travel away for your honeymoon. You're the ones that should be moving on after the wedding if you want to get away. If all your guests have already had to spend so much money joining you on a destination wedding, then it makes sense for them to make it into a vacation. For some people they may well have chosen to go to your destination wedding instead of their planned holiday that year.

Literally change your plans without telling them, then
