Today, my hours got cut because I couldn't make it into work when they called me in. Why couldn't I make it in? I was in an interview for a better job. I didn't get the job. FML

Today, I had a job interview. I got there as quick as I could, having to travel two hours into a city I'd never been to. When I arrived, they told me I was turned down for being too late. They'd rescheduled the interview an hour earlier and I wasn't notified of the change. FML
Today, I got a call from the only company that asked me to come in for an interview of the many applications I submitted. I answered it even though I was at my current job. My boss heard and chewed me out. The call was to cancel the interview since the position was filled. FML
Today, I showed up on time for a job interview. After waiting for about three hours, I was informed that the manager had "better things to do" than interview me. FML
Today, after trying so hard to get myself back on my feet, I had an amazing interview and I was hired on the spot. I was so happy, until I read the position I was given, and it turns out I didn't get full-time, I got barely enough hours to even be part-time. FML
Today, my phone cut out during a call for a job interview. I tried calling them back, but there was no answer. Later, I got an email from the interviewer, saying I was no longer being considered for the position due to my being "rude and unprofessional." FML
Today, I got denied a job. They told me I was unreliable because I didn't show up for my third interview. This is the same interview they called and cancelled this morning. FML
Today, after having tried for months to get a promotion at work, I finally had an interview for a higher position. Everything went great, and I was told I would get a call next week for my second interview. I went back to my desk, only to get an email stating they're canceling the position. FML
Today, I was let go from my job for not being able to come into work early. FML
Today, I woke up early for a job interview. I got lost and arrived an hour late, only to find out it was the wrong day. FML
Today, my two co-workers got the promotion we were all working for. The reason they got the promotion and not me? My interview got cancelled because of a policy change, implemented that day. FML

Wow, people really don't understand how that works... Okay, if you've never had that happen to you, you shouldn't comment on it, really people don't show your stupidity... Let's say you work for Krogers (which until I got a better job, I recently did) Krogers will work you the minimum 8 hrs a week, and they'll call you in any other day that they may need you. Now, it's not fair because if they need you they should schedule you anyway, but since you're in a union (which Krogers is) you get only the minimum allowed hours weekly at just a few cents above minimum wage. If you don't come in when they call you in, they won't schedule you for any extra hours beyond what they HAVE to give you. If you come in all the hours that they didn't schedule you but called you in, they'll continue to give you full time hours on a part time allowance. It's a scam a lot of grocery stores and other retailers do to keep themselves with a cashier and you with as little as they can give you and every other employee... Like I said, if you don't know any better, you probably shouldn't comment on things like this... FYL OP

Sounds like what some idiot did at my job. Don't know if this is similar to the OP's case, but in our situation the guy lied about why he wasn't coming, got caught in the lie, and then cursed out the manager that called him out on the lie. Thing about most of these posts (whether they truly warrant attention or sympathy or not) is that they are skewed to the author's side of things. Getting hours cut is crappy, but there seems to be more to it than what you posted, that was just the management team getting tired of working with you.

Wow felt the need to comment because some people are idiots who can't read! the poster said "called in" They were on a day off and scheduled the interview on their day off and work wanted them to cover, most likely for someone sick, and they obviously couldn't do it. Their employer is an arsehole for cutting their hours over that, hope you get a better job soon OP!

you should've said you were stuck in traffic or something and you would be there as soon as you could. plus the reason you didn't get the job is probly because you answered your phone when you knew you were there for an interview
