Today, my exchange student asked me for a ride to a party at a friend's house that I didn't know about. When I said, "Oh, just let me change", she replied, "I just need the ride, you're not invited." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Useful friends
Today, after having a fight with my BFF, she invited me to come along to a party. I found out later that she'd only invited me so that when returning from the event, we could take a taxi and split the cost. FML
No social media, no problems
Today, I was confronted by a friend, who I didn’t invite to an outing with the rest of our friends because we think she’s annoying. I'd posted a photo and I'd apparently forgot to exclude her from viewing it in the post settings. She’s also my ride to and from school. She told me, “I hope you can afford Uber/Lyft.” FML
I'll get my coat
Today, I was sleeping when my roommate walked in and asked me, "So… when are you leaving?" She had decided to throw a party in our apartment. I wasn't invited. FML
Cool beans
Today, I got a call from a girl I know, asking if I could babysit her little brother at my house tonight. I said yes. When the boy came over, he mentioned that his sister was having a party and didn't want him there. Turns out all my friends were invited except me. FML
Today, I was invited to a party. Since I rarely get invited to any, I was super pumped. Both my parents work late, so I texted a couple of people to see if I could catch a ride. It turned out everyone's cars were full. I ended up missing one of the only parties I've ever been invited to. FML
Lost
Today, a friend who I hadn't seen in a while offered to give me a ride. I didn't really know how to give directions to my house, so when we had been driving for a while and it was getting awkward, I just pointed at a random house and pretended to live there. FML
#rude
Today, I invited my only friend to my birthday party and she said no, not because she couldn’t go, but because she didn’t want to. FML
There's definitely a separate WhatsApp group
Today, the friend I was supposed to meet said, "Oh, I forgot to put it in my calendar." She than suggested all our friends drive out to her place in the morning (instead of the agreed afternoon) when I was unable to attend, which she knew. FML
Today, I found out I wasn't cool enough to be invited to a college party that happened last night. The one in charge of inviting people was my girlfriend of two years. FML
Today, I went to a concert with a friend of mine. When his dad came to pick him up, I walked towards the car, expecting a ride. His dad told me he didn't have time to drive me home. I'm his neighbour. FML

Tell her: "In this country, you drive, you party".

Exchange students can be ******* assholes. We're on number five right now. I'm sorry OP, I feel your pain.

I would have drove her and go in the opposite direction and kick her ads out of my car and made her walk

Lots of people here are thinking it's the exchange students fault; when really the party hosts just aren't fans of OP

Given that the exchange student already had the balls, I think they would.

I take it OP is the parent. So...why would they be invited?
lexwilder 16
OP could have been the host student, I was responsible for my partner when I took part in the exchange program.

Huh, well how about that. Looks like she just lost her ride. Sorry OP!

They asked for a ride, why would you assume that was an invitation? Would you have preferred that the student let you come with then experience all kinds of awkwardness at the party because you just invited yourself along? YDI OP.

She probably assumed an invitation because the person throwing the part was a mutual friend of theirs. I don't think it'd be unreasonable of her to assume her friend had told the exchange student about the party with the intention of her knowing about it too (they do live together after all). Besides, if the party was being kept "hidden" from her, it'd make more sense to ask someone else for a lift. Obviously the exchange student didn't do that, but for me that makes it even more understandable that OP would misunderstand. Not to mention it's kind of rude to throw a party, exclude one of your friends, and then expect that excluded friend to chauffeur someone else to the party.
