Today, my child-hating friend who vowed never to have any no matter what, announced that she's pregnant. I've had three IVF cycles, spent $90k in fertility treatments, and still can't conceive. FML

116 it depends on where you adopt from. My brother and I were both adopted, he was about $7000 (closed in state adoption) and I on the other hand was $40k (out of state open adoption)

I agree mate... I don't get it either.

That's how it is! Those that want can't and those that don't deserve get it

People that want the love and happiness that children bring are willing to spend that type of money. It's worth it. Children are there for a lifetime & will be with you until you die to provide unconditional love.

Did she announce it on facebook? Because in that case, I would seriously doubt she's really pregnant. It's probably one of those status things that don't really do anything, the latest one is just weird.

Yea I freaked out about that when a couple friends were saying 'I'm __weeks and craving___'

I cant believe how heartless people can actually be. I just found out I may not be able to conceive and I'm only 18. that womanly right has been yanked away from us.

Its not a right though, when you take into account all the things that have to be correct to have a kid its a wonder anyone concieves. Take heart though, I have PCOS and with that it is unlikely that you are able to concieve but I concieved very quickly. A lot of times its just a case of not knowing for definate until you try.

I work at a Spa and we just hired a woman who does fertility massages... Maybe you should try that!!

that's why you don't wait until your thirties to start having children. peak fertility for women is 19 to 23 years old.

No. You wait until your are emotionally and financially ready to have them and hopefully with a committed partner and not a one night stand from a pub.

What idiot spends $90,000 on operations to have a baby.Adopting is alot cheaper

Ur dick! Really I'm sure ur not a parent! Kids are a blessing and being a mom is the best feeling in the world. Adopting will not give you the satisfaction that carrying ur own child that was in ur womb for 9 months would give you.

You could always adopt some baby that needs a good life. Just sayin'.
