Today, my brother in law brought a dead rabbit to my nephew saying, "I found the Easter Bunny!" My nephew started crying hours ago and hasn't stopped. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, at a big Easter egg hunt, the kids found a wild bunny. Everyone smiled and "aww"ed, until my dog caught and ate it in front everyone. FML
Oh no…
Today, my dog proudly brought home a rabbit he'd killed. The same rabbit that belongs to my neighbor's daughter. FML

Today, as an amateur magician, I tried a new trick at my nephew’s birthday party. The trick involved pulling a fake rabbit out of a hat. I didn't realize my nephew had put his real pet rabbit in the hat as a prank. The poor rabbit jumped out, scaring the kids, and causing chaos. FML
Underwhelming
Today, I went to my boyfriend's house to meet his parents, and now they have a dead rabbit because I sat on it. FML
Natural
Today, I was watching Animal Planet while babysitting my 4 year-old niece. A really cute baby bunny came on and I called her into the room, only for her to see it get killed by a Bald Eagle. Now she won't stop crying. FML
RIP little guy
Today, my pet bunny died. My little sister is distraught and practically suicidal, because apparently she playfully pointed a wand at it a few days ago and said, "Avada kedavra!" She's absolutely convinced that she killed it. FML
Crybabies
Today, I had an Easter Egg Hunt in my backyard for my kids. When they collected all the eggs, they opened them and to their dismay there was no candy inside. When I bought them, I thought they already came with candy. It’s been two hours and my kids won’t stop crying. FML
Poor little bunny
Today, after I warned my son repeatedly that if he wanted a rabbit he had to clean and feed it, I checked on it. It wasn’t just dead, it was dead and rotting in a pool of its own pee and faeces. I yelled at him, but he just shrugged and told me rabbits are boring and he forgot it was even there. FML
Today, my mom visited, and I left her for a few minutes while I used the bathroom. While I was stuck taking a crap, she went on one of her religious rants, telling my children that Easter was off this year because their precious "pagan" Easter Bunny had been murdered. FML
Today, I was hiding Easter eggs around the house when my 7-year-old triplets woke up from their nap and saw me. They quickly realized that I am the Easter Bunny, and then they guessed that I am Santa. Now I have 3 crying second graders. FML

Get your nephew a pet bunny and tell him that you were asked by the Easter Bunny to have him raise and care for the bunny. It'll distract him and he'll learn a thing or two about being a good pet owner.

so explain to your nephew that your brother in law is a jerk and he's playing a prank. I'm not an Easter Bunny person, but you don't screw with kids like that. it's up to his parents if they want to reveal that type of stuff

That was horrible. What a jerk. Poor kid needs a better person in his life. Tell him that the Easter bunny can never die just like Santa and the Tooth Fairy. If something happens to one another takes its place. It's part of the magic.

What did your sister/wife have to say about that? If he's your brother in law through your sister, I hope she denies him sex for the next five years.

It's entirely possible that the brother in law is the kids' dad. It sounds like something an asshole dad might do. I had one of those.

Why the hell did he do that? Just to scare your nephew? That's pathetic!

Ahh, he'll get over it and it will be hilarious in a few years. I promise. My grandmother had a huge old outdoor tomcat that regularly left 'presents' on her back door step. We lived next door so one Easter morning, I was four or five, we ran over to get our baskets the Easter Bunny left at Grandma's only to find a dead rabbit on the back step! My grandma heard us coming, stepped out and saw it and says "Oops, well, looks like Cubby ate the Easter Bunny. I was wondering why he didn't leave you baskets here." We started bawling. My mom was soooo mad. But now 20+ years later, it's a funny story to tell. A favorite memory of my grandma and a reminder of where I got my innapropriate sense of humor.
