Today, my boyfriend of 2 years took me to get a tattoo done with his name on. He paid for it. After it was done he told me it was over between us and he thought it'd be a nice reminder of him for me. FML

Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML
Today, my boyfriend confessed to me that the only reason he's with me is because I'm a good tattoo artist and he's too broke to pay for his own tattoos. We've been together for two years. FML
Today, I went to get a tattoo of my girlfriend's name to surprise her. Halfway through the tattooing, she called and broke up with me. FML

Ahhh, that's why you never get a tattoo of a boyfriend or girlfriend's name! Tattoos are there forever but boyfriends or girlfriends aren't. What an asshole though. I am so sorry.

i usually just laugh at FML's... but this actually made me feel bad. Yes, your not suppose to tattoo names on your skin, but really, you could have never known he was going to screw you over. (well, i guess you could have known, but its obvious you didnt) Asshole boyfriend. Goodluck with the next one!!

I would feel bad for you if it wasn't so stupid. YDI - you NEVER get a tatoo - of anything! They're horrible, you can get infections, they look horrible when you get older and most people grow to hate theirs. Plus you should NEVER get a tatoo of someone else's name, especially when you're just dating when he can just walk out of your life in a flash. It wouldn't have been as stupid had you two been married. But to get one when you're just dating is ridiculous. && most importantly - why would you get one of his name & not have him get one of yours? That clearly shows that you're mad about him but he doesn't love you.

Most tattoos done by professionals aren't horrible at all. It's a form of art and some people like to spice up their skin with them. With proper care for your tattoo it shouldn't get infected and you can get them renewed if they start to fade out. So "it will look bad when you get old" is a bad argument. + I doubt the rest of my body will stay as sexy when I get old. Most people I know that "hate" their tattoos are the ones that got them done by some unprofessional "tattoo artist" and the tattoo was horrible and disliked from start. Others that actually paid for them and were done by a professional - haven't met one that disliked theirs. Most of them want more.
