Today, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by a drive-thru on the way to his place. I asked him to order a Coke for me, at which point he asked if I wanted to make it a Diet Coke. FML

Today, at lunch I ordered a Coke. The waiter replied, "Diet Coke?" and I corrected him saying, "No, regular Coke." He shook his head and said again, "Diet Coke." FML
Today, my waiter turned to me and asked, "Let me guess, Miss I'm-not-fat-I'm-fluffy wants a Diet Coke?" FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were out to eat. The waiter came and asked what we wanted. My boyfriend said he wanted a cheeseburger and I told the waiter I'd have the same. My boyfriend looked at me and said, "Are you sure you don't want a salad?" FML
Today, while on a date, I accidentally ordered "diet water" instead of saying "diet coke". FML
Today, I went out to eat with a group of couples and my boyfriend. All my friends boyfriends paid for them. Mine didn't, and said that I should order off the diet menu. FML
Today, I went through a drive-thru and ordered a coffee. The cashier asked, “Hot or iced?” I panicked and said, “Yes.” We both just stared at each other until she said, “So… which one?” I wanted to drive away and never return. FML
Today, I ordered a Diet Coke with my meal from a fast food restaurant. Turns out, they didn't give me diet. My blood sugar spiked and I was sick for hours later. I'm a diabetic. FML
Today, I was lying on the couch with my boyfriend and was feeling tired, so I got a soda. I sat back down and surprised him with a passionate kiss. I also surprised him when I suddenly burped right into his mouth. FML
Today, I called my husband and asked him what he wanted from our favorite fast food place. A divorce. FML
Today, I was working the drive-thru at McDonalds, and as I handed out a Diet coke to the customer, the man started growling and yelled "HULK SMASH!" He smashed the cup with two fists and drove off. I was drenched in soda. FML

Do you normally order diet? If not, that would be kind of a jerk move on his part. I know most people seem quick to defend him, but depending on your past with him and what he knows about you, comments like that can cut.

It had nothing to do with me apparently because it had something to do with something he read online that he wanted to talk about, but the way he said it made me feel like he was telling me to slim down at first because I've put on 5lbs (which I know isn't much but it shows on a short girl). The reason I've put it on is because I'm off my birth control until this bullshit with insurance is cleared up, which the bc regulates my hormones due to some problems I have and keeps my weight down. The hormones throw off my metabolism so much so that I'll gain weight even when cutting back to one meal a day.

You need to stop worrying. Your boyfriend may be wondering if you would want diet or a normal coke, not because he thinks you need to diet, but because he might not be sure about your preference. (I know people who prefer diet coke because of the taste)

I think you might be being a bit sensitive... My boyfriend asks the same thing - because he knows I prefer it.
