Today, my boyfriend and I decided to be responsible and put parental controls on the Playstation so our kids can't play adult games or watch adult content online. And now, neither can we. FML

Today, I had to be the responsible adult and take my parents' phones away. Most of their time is spent on social media and low-quality brainrot. FML
Today, after my husband yet again failed to complete his To-Do list, I took away his Xbox and PlayStation and told him he could have them back once the list was done. He stared at me and said, "No. You're not my mother. Give them back and we will talk like adults." FML
Today, I learned that my wife lets our son play video games while I'm at work to "keep him out of her hair." We had agreed that he was forbidden from gaming until his grades came up, but apparently she can't be bothered to actually parent. FML
Today, I found out my husband put a parental block on the TV so I couldn't rent a movie. I'm 42. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
Today, my husband was concerned about our son using the Internet, so he told him a story about a kid who gave out his personal information and was kidnapped and killed by a maniac. Now our son is scared to use anything with a screen. FML
Today, I came back to my appartment to find that I couldn't watch certain channels on my tv. When I called the tv company I found out my parents had put a 'parental block' on all my favorite channels. Im 22 and rent an appartment with my friends. FML
Today, I went to my girlfriend's house to play Twister. Her parents watched us the whole time, making sure we didn't touch. FML
Today, my parents canceled the Internet at our house because they view it as a "passing fad." FML
Today, I found out my ex lets our kids watch Game of Thrones during his weekend visits. Our kids are 8 and 6. FML

They would have to make a sub account for themselves, not the children. I kinda doubt kids are going to bother switching profiles every time they turn it on.

How old are your kids? If they're not teens that's fine, but if they are teens don't be those parents that don't let them play M games

Well, not figuring out the password system before doing a full lockout was just silly of you. But good on you for trying to be proactive with your kids' entertainment. Too many parents bitch about mature video games being made, when the real problem is that they'll buy their kids any damn game without bothering to check the rating.

Do neither of you have a TV or a laptop? Besides, if you don't want them playing adult games, don't let them have the discs. As simple as that. If they don't have access to the aforementioned games, then there's no need for parental controls.

Many games these days are downloadable directly on the system and don't require the disc to play.

Make your first user the parent account and then make a secondary account for your kids with parental controls. You can always go to the PlayStation forums and FAQs to sort this out.
