Today, my bird learned to mimic my fire alarm. It proved it to me at 3 am. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my bird learned how to mimic the fire alarm after my dad has been testing them for the last few months. He now enjoys sounding like a fire alarm anytime I turn the lights off with the other bird joining in. They live in my room. FML
Today, after months of teaching my parrot to speak, he finally demonstrated his abilities. I accidentally set off my smoke detector, and he's been wailing like a dying banshee ever since. FML
SHUT UP!
Today, my smoke alarm started chirping at 3 a.m. I replaced the battery, reset it, and got back into bed. Five minutes later, it chirped again. I searched for the source before realizing it was my roommate's alarm clock. FML
Enjoy the sirens
Today, my parrot learned how to imitate my baby's crying. Now, every time the baby cries, the parrot joins in, and it sounds like a chorus of screaming. FML
Today, the car across the street has been broken into so many times that my parrot has started to mimic its car alarm. FML
Bird song
Today, I figured I've been watching too many horror films, due to my parrot mimicking a women's blood-curdling screams that he heard in a movie. How do I know? He decided to reproduce the screams at 3 a.m. FML
Woah!
Today, my fire alarm startled me so badly that I shat myself. FML
Wakey wakey
Today, I was woken up by a bird screaming its guts out. My cat had somehow managed to catch a bird and bring it inside. My 9 a.m. morning began with trying to catch a bird in my own home. FML
Wake up Boo
Today, I set an elaborate alarm system to wake up early. I woke up to the soothing sounds of birds chirping, only to discover that I had accidentally set my ringtone to bird noises instead of an actual alarm. I missed my morning meeting. FML
Today, my cat thought it was appropriate to bring a bird into the house at 4 a.m.; the bird thought it was appropriate to attack my mom. FML

Now all you have to do is make it learn a police siren and you'll be set with a watch bird.

How often does your fire alarm go off?

Why is your bird awake at 3am? Jeez, shut off the lights and cover his cage so he can get some sleep. You deserve it for not taking proper care of your bird.

Birds usually don't fall completely asleep. I have a cockatiel myself and I cover his cage at night but he doesn't manage to stay asleep.

It takes a lot of repitition to teach a bird to minic something so, seriously, why does your fire alarm go off so much?

it really doesn't, only takes once if the bird thinks its interesting. not to be annoying just saying

teach your bird police sirens, gun shots, and crazy stuff then get it to mimic them at your will and then use the bird to freak people out

And you thought just getting those 49 fire alarms to stop going off at 3 am last week was annoying enough. The bird thought it was a singing competition and now wants to try his hand at it. Now that you've heard both it's time to give the verdict. So, which was better?

OP, if you don't teach your bird to sing pleasant songs at pleasant times it's bound to mimic something. You just lost this game of Russian roulette. But it's ok. Just leave the window open and you can spend $50 and try again. Buy a cd of bird songs and leave it playing on repeat while you leave for work/school. New bird will learn to sing when it's light out and not when it's dark.
