Today, my cat thought it was appropriate to bring a bird into the house at 4 a.m.; the bird thought it was appropriate to attack my mom. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Wakey wakey
Today, I was woken up by a bird screaming its guts out. My cat had somehow managed to catch a bird and bring it inside. My 9 a.m. morning began with trying to catch a bird in my own home. FML
Today, I got a new cat for my birthday. It ate my bird right when we got home, then it ran away. FML
Today, I'd had enough of the annoying bird constantly singing in the shrillest bird voice possible outside of my window, so I chased it around the yard, shooing it away, as my cat sat there and watched. FML
I just want to go to bed
Today, it's 1 a.m. and once again a freaking bird has flew into my house from the attic. My cats are of course all crazy right now as it sits in my room, in a high corner beyond reach. My children are sleeping and I have no way to let it outside from where it is right now. Oh and it's freezing outside. FML
Today, I came home to find that my sweet kitten had gotten out and dragged a bird inside, where he ripped it to shreds. I found the bird's head in my underwear drawer. FML
Today, I watched a cat pounce on a small bird and rip it to shreds, feather by feather. It wouldn't have been any worse than mildly disturbing, had I not just spent the last 4 weeks nursing the bird back to health from a broken wing. FML
Flash, ah ah!
Today, a bird ran into my window. My overzealous cat ran at it like the Flash and smashed his face in the window. He yelped and ran away, then as I was running to see if he was OK, I slammed my face in the door jamb. FML
Panic in the sheets
Today, I woke up to my disabled mother screaming for me. Fearing the worst, I hopped out of bed only to find that she was yelling because her cat had brought a field mouse inside as a gift. The problem? It was still alive. I had to get it from him and throw it outside. FML
Territorial
Today, I'm very tired because last night my cat decided to announce to the world that another cat had wandered into the backyard at the top of his lungs. At 2 AM. FML
Today, my mother talked shit about me to the cat while I was in the room. FML

I would be pissed too if I had been dragged into a house by a cat.

That poor bird! (and your poor mother). I know my cats like to bring bats into the house all the freaking time.

And as you know. the bird is the word.

The poor bird was trying to defend itself... Probably too afraid of the cat to attack it.

Did your mom think it was appropriate enough to attack the bird?

Cats do that because they love you and want to help you learn to hunt. He/she is being nice and motherly to you.

Oh no! So sorry.. your cat shouldn't have brought it in the house anyways. The bird was most likely trying to defend itself. Keep your cat in the house next time and shut the doors, you should be fine :)

Some cats are inside/outside cats. I know mine was a lot before I moved.

cats hurt a lot of wildlife though and are technically an invasive animal. please choose indoor only and try to transition the cat

Most people like outdoor cats. Yeah they hunt but if you live on an acreage its either you have a cat or you have mice. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's enough wildlife around I doubt a few cats will wipe it all out.

yes you could consider cats invasive, but the biggest thing I've seen my cats manage to kill is a rabbit, other than that it's all mice snakes birds and squirrels, and just as there are many fish in the sea there are many rodents in the woods my cats hunt.

Cats are pretty much just little furry Republicans. Seriously though. It's been pretty well documented that even well fed cats often hunt for sport. They just like to catch and kill things.
