Today, it was report card day at swimming lessons. Because it was the last day, a little girl brought me flowers. She was the only kid in that class who didn't pass. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, it was the last day of school, and I said goodbye to one of my students. She then told me how to correctly pronounce her name. I'd said it wrong all year. FML
Today, I had to go take swimming lessons because my mom has a fear I'll drown and I'm totally afraid of swimming anyway and never get anywhere near water. My instructor? A high school classmate of mine. My fellow swimming classmates? 5 and 6 year old kids. FML
Great!
Today, I took my class to swimming lessons at the local public pool. One student came out and proudly told me that she'd pooed in the shower, but it was OK because she'd then picked it up and flushed it down the toilet. FML
Today, my math teacher brought his laptop to tally up all our scores for our report card. He then displayed the results on a big screen in front of the whole class. The ones who failed were marked yellow. I was the only one marked yellow. FML
Today, I got my report card. My teacher gave me an F, and under class comments she gave me a U for unsatisfactory. So I got an F U from my teacher. FML
Today, I kissed my 3.5 GPA goodbye because my English teacher was too caught up planning her parrot's birthday party to put in the credit I deserve for three different essays I completed for her class. FML
Little perv
Today, I was teaching swim lessons. I got felt up by a 6 year-old boy. Three times. FML
Today, I collected my students' notes in class to check them. One girl, who is always drawing weird anime crap in her sketchbook, turned in just one piece of paper that read, "FUCK YOUR CLASS." FML
Today, it was the last day of school. My students shared what they thought of me. Expecting to hear wonderful things, all of their complaints can be summed up in a few words: I'm a liar, a killer of dreams, I need to grow up, and I was a big disappointment to them. I'm a first-year teacher. FML
Tyranny
Today, while teaching swimming to a bunch of five year-olds, one particularly bratty girl decided she didn't want to swim and led the entire class to strike, leaving the pool empty, and me without a job. Apparently I was teaching the next world tyrant to swim. FML

Talk about crushing someone. Don't discourage her for the rest of her life. Then again, if you pass her & let her think she can swim, she might drown & not have a life.

Once I got too the end I literally said awe. it's sad but I'm sure if they talked to the parents and offered 1 on 1 for a low price or for free that would help.

You said, "Awe"? What was filling you with awe? Or did you mean "Aww"?

Life is rarely fair, she will learn this the hard way now...

How is this unfair? The girl apparently didn't deserve to pass. Flowers can't change that.

she is a child! she doesn't eed to have her heart broken already we should try and keep the little ones as innocent as possible for as long as possile!

#14: So you'd rather have her "pass" while unqualified just to spare her feelings? I'm sure she'll be grateful until she drowns because she doesn't know how to swim.

Let us refer to the Spongebob episode where Mrs. Puff let Spongebob pass and get his driver's license...

And then you get kids who don't know jack shit about the real world. No thanks.

#14: Let me guess; you're one of those people responsible for handing out "participation trophies" to kids who don't win at their extracurricular activities. As Carlin once said, kids need to hear those character-building words, "You lost! You're a loser!" and learn from them.

i learned swimming the hard way where you are left in the deeper part of the pool and are expected to try your hardest to swim with what you learned

If you suggest the OP should have passed the girl in swimming because of her flowers or her feelings, you are stating that you'd rather a child drown than be sad.

Were her parents aware that she was in danger of not passing prior to report card day?

Well that's very unfortunate. Be as kind to her as you can my friend.
