Today, it's my first day-off for the holidays. Today is also the day they decided to start building a house next to mine. I can't sleep beyond 7 am. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, it's been three days since I started working 12-hour night shifts. My neighbors have now decided to renovate their house. They're focusing on the rooms sharing my wall. FML
Today, just like every workday for the last 6 months, the construction workers in my building made loud noises in the morning and woke me up almost 2 hours before I would otherwise have to get up. This will continue for one more year. I'm not a morning person, and I live in a protected historical building. FML
Today, I learned from the noise outside my window that construction workers start their days at 5 AM. FML
Today, and for the 4 months preceding it, my neighbors had been remodeling their house, which meant jackhammer noises every morning. The one day they take a break, my other neighbor decides to start a remodeling project. It'll only be two more months of this. FML
Today, it's the first day in 3 weeks that I'm in my flat after 7 a.m. due to a very busy work schedule. I was looking forward to a Saturday lie-in. Also today, my flatmate's alarm clock went off loudly from 7:30 to 10:30. He's in another country and his door is locked. Bye bye lie-in. FML
Today, it's 3 days before Christmas and my first day of holidays. Today is also the first day I have been sick all year. Hello tonsillitis, goodbye fun. FML
Today, I took my first day off in 3 weeks just so I can sleep in. The office secretary woke me up at 7.12 am with a page wishing me a nice day off. FML
Today, we started building our dream house. Next to my parents-in-law. FML
Today, and for the past two weeks, the people living directly above me have decided to add rearranging their furniture to their daily routines. Not only that but apparently, 6 a.m. is the most optimal time for them. FML
Today, I sleep during the day because I work nights. My neighbors have a very loud wedding and reception in their backyard including a live mariachi band. FML

oh shut up. after working so hard for such a long time, anyone would want just a little bit of rest. i doubt that you would be exactly happy in the same situation, so don't give this guy shit about him wanting to sleep.

I like the earplugs idea being thrown around. 7am drilling sucks I lived next to a road being blasted for a good solid 2 weeks and they helped immensly.

Hahaha. I've worked construction before, as my dad does it for a living. It's too damn bad if someone doesn't like it, he has a job to do. So no, I can get over it. OP obviously can't.
