Today, and for the 4 months preceding it, my neighbors had been remodeling their house, which meant jackhammer noises every morning. The one day they take a break, my other neighbor decides to start a remodeling project. It'll only be two more months of this. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
I'm only sleeping
Today, it's been three days since I started working 12-hour night shifts. My neighbors have now decided to renovate their house. They're focusing on the rooms sharing my wall. FML
Today, it's the third day I've been at home recuperating from ear surgery. My surgery was on the same day my neighbor started renovating. There's been hours of jack-hammering every day I've been home. FML
Noise cancelling anyone?
Today, just like every workday for the last 6 months, the construction workers in my building made loud noises in the morning and woke me up almost 2 hours before I would otherwise have to get up. This will continue for one more year. I'm not a morning person, and I live in a protected historical building. FML
Out of the frying pan into a similar frying pan
Today, they're jackhammering through concrete walls at my workplace in order to build an addition. I'm allowed to work from home… but I live right next to where they're jackhammering down a concrete garage. FML
Today, like every other day since I moved into this apartment a year ago, the construction crew started their noisy work at 5:30 in the morning. When I moved in I was promised it was a quiet neighborhood; only offices. What have they been building in the meantime? Three nightclubs. FML
Landlords gonna landlord
Today, I remembered my landlord telling me that the renovation of our apartment would cause some "minor inconvenience during 3-5 days". We actually spent 5 WEEKS with no windows, no kitchen, and no bathroom, with construction workers appearing in my bedroom and telling me to get out at 7 a.m. FML
Today, I'm at home sick and someone is moving into the apartment above ours. Judging by the sounds and level of noise, they seem to be opening some sort of woodworking shop. FML
Today, and for the past two weeks, the people living directly above me have decided to add rearranging their furniture to their daily routines. Not only that but apparently, 6 a.m. is the most optimal time for them. FML
Not helping
Today, I came home from work early due to a massive headache. A half hour later, the jackhammering started. FML
Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Today, after months of peace and quiet since January, a new family moved into the apartment below me ten minutes before I was about to go to sleep. They've been here for 30 minutes and already they're stomping and banging doors all over the place. FML

We've been going through this for the past couple of years, on and off, in our building! Every time someone moves out, they tear up everything. Eventually, it'll stop. Mught want to invest in a pait of noise cancelling headphones. Hang in there OP!

Sure, let's just bust out the jackhammer for that project now.

It sounds like you already have a construction site to hide the bodies in... No officer, I haven't seen Mr. Rogers for weeks.

I'm hearing you. There's a house going up over the road - it's into its ninth month. They start hammering, sawing and drilling around 7am. I start night shifts in a few weeks - bye bye sleep :(

Aren't there laws about what time you can start doing construction... noise laws? Something?! If not... invest in ear plugs. Good luck

Yeah, 7 AM is a common time for when you are allowed to start in a residential zone.

I feel your pain - a new complex is being built by me and, for months, all I could hear was the noise of their power tools and work and their work made my home shake. It was the worst! I'm just glad they're far enough along now that I don't have to deal with any of that.

Look at the bright side, you're over halfway through it.
