Today, I wrote the girl I love a long, gushy letter to convince her to be with me instead of her abusive ex. Later on, I asked her what she thought. She said she can't read cursive. She chose the ex. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I wrote my girlfriend a song. She wrote me a 13-page letter on why we should break up. FML
Today, my girlfriend found a letter I'd written to myself for moral support while we were broken up, in which I explained why we would never work out. Apparently I made a convincing argument. FML
Anonymous is typing…
Today, I finally wrote a DM to the girl I'm in love with, telling her not to say yes if her ex asked her out, and instead to go out with me. I then chickened out and deleted the message, but then realised she'd still get the notification on her phone. FML
No thanks
Today, I worked up the courage to confess my feelings to this girl I'm crazy about. I even wrote and recorded a song for her. Instead of listening to it, she gave it to her ex-boyfriend, who responded to my heartfelt words by headbutting me. FML
Today, I found out that the girl I've been in love with for a long while got back together with her ex boyfriend because he had confessed his true feelings to her through a note in her locker. It was my note. FML
Tainted Love
Today, I told the girl I've been seeing for a while about the strong feelings that I have for her and that I was falling in love. She told me my words made her realize what it felt like to be in love. My words were so powerful, in fact, that she ran right back into the arms of her ex boyfriend. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. Thinking I was being cute I spelled out "Marry Me" in alphabet soup, because that's her favorite. She took one look at it and started to laugh. She then began to spell out "no". She still ate the soup. FML
And they call it puppy love…
Today, I gathered the courage and wrote a love letter to put in the girl I like's school bag, at the end of classes. I felt anxious for a response. Her bag turned out to be her cousin's, and I became a joke in the classroom. FML
Too late
Today, I broke up with my boyfriend whom I love dearly because he doesn't share his feelings and won't commit. Yesterday, he wrote me a long love letter telling me he wanted to marry me. One of my kids had shoved it under my printer and I didn't find it until after he had moved out. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a really sweet poem that he wrote for me. I think it was secondhand - the first letter of each verse spelled his ex girlfriend's name. FML

I'm gonna say YDI. If she's so stupid that she can't leave an abusive boyfriend without someone convincing her then you should of known she was to stupid to know how to read cursive.

She obviously is not worth the effort. I am pleased to hear that you would do such a sweet romantic thing. You definately deserve better. In the future youll make a very lucky lady happy and loving.

YDI, meaning you deserve someone smarter. Or at least more well suited to you.

Can I just point out here that you are not apart of the relationship and therefore would not have all the details? Why do people these days see relationships as so black and white? Oh yes he may have been a bit abusive to her, but that is all the information we have been given. No definition of what the word 'abusive' means to the OP and no other details about the relationship.

Actually, the definition on 'abusive' is very clear and doesn't leave a lot of room for interpretation... a·bu·sive (-bysv, -zv) adj. 1. Characterized by improper or wrongful use: abusive utilization of public funds. 2. Using or containing insulting or coarse language: finally reprimanded the abusive colleague. 3. Causing physical injury to another: abusive punishment. 4. Relating to or practicing sexual abuse. So, basically, causing physical or psychological injury. Easy...

The sticking point for me in this is not that she can't read cursive (which is sadly laughable), but that she didn't try to find someone to interpret it for her. She doesn't give a shit about you, OP. I'm sorry but someone who liked you even a little bit would've found it novel that you wrote her a letter and would've found a way.

Damn it, replied to the wrong comment...
