Today, I went to visit some family out of state for my niece's birthday. I couldn't think of what to get an 8-year-old so I got her a Barbie doll. Everyone else got her money, iPods, game consoles, etc. When she got to mine she asked "how do I turn it on?" Then threw it away when she couldn't. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Bartering
Today, my 8 year-old niece gave me back a Fluttershy plush I gifted her 4 years ago. When I told her it was a gift from the heart, she insisted on exchanging it for something of equal value. FML
Today, my 3 year old kid wanted to do something nice. I told him he could pick up some of his toys. He washed my new Iphone instead. FML
Today, my teenage daughter faked a suicide because I bought her a Samsung instead of an iPhone for her birthday. FML
Today, I took away my 8-year-old daughter's toy for throwing it too many times. She then said, "I need a beer." FML
Oh come on!
Today, I found an old toy that I gave to my daughter several years ago. It was still unopened, and long forgotten, so I decided to re-gift it to one of my friend's children. My daughter immediately remembered her "favorite" toy and started crying inconsolably. FML
Today, my son turned 8. We watched as he unwrapped a $55 Nerf gun, extra 'bullets', new shoes and a school bag with his favorite TV character on the front and a action figure inside. As he finished he looked me straight in the eyes and says, "That's great ma, but seriously what'd you get me?". FML
Have fun!
Today, I bought my niece a huge stuffed teddy bear for her birthday because I wanted to be the cool aunt/uncle. She hugged it, smiled, and then immediately hugged the gift bag instead, because apparently it made a "funny" crinkly noise. I have officially been defeated by packaging. FML
Today, my 8 year-old adopted daughter told me she wants me to take her back so another family can adopt her because I don't give her enough toys. FML
Little brat
Today, my 14 year-old daughter is so selfish that on her sister's birthday, she found the present, assumed it must be for her, opened it, then destroyed it when she saw it was frozen Anna and Elsa dolls because she hates Frozen. Her sister loves Frozen, and hasn’t stopped crying over Anna’s severed head. FML
They hated her because she spoke the truth
Today, I threw a pillow at my 8 year-old cousin while play-fighting. She gave me a look, then muttered, "You don't have any girlfriends and the girls that talk to you probably have no taste." FML

Disrespectful. That's what I feel about this generation.

Kids these days... It's one of many reasons I've decided never to have one, and also one of many reasons why I personally hate them until they're 18...sometimes 25...

I was taught to accept the gifts and say thank you. It doesn't matter if I got two of the same thing. You have to appreciate that they were thinking of you.

You SHOULD try to find out what the child likes. I remember being tired of dolls by around 4. However, a child should always act grateful no matter what. Her behavior was WAY unacceptable.

What a brat

If I was her mother I would have smacked her upside her head and took her gifts away. That ungrateful child doesn't deserve shit.

"You turn it on by paying a $180 a month bill, which I expect to be compensated for." Well, that's just what I would say. As it is, yeah, the kid doesn't deserve all that stuff if that's their attitude, spoiled brat.

Why is an 8-year-old receiving so many fancy expensive gifts? In today's society we see 9 year olds walking around with iPhones. Its pretty rediculous
