Today, I went to the doctor about my bruised runners toes. She was inexperienced when It came to athletic injuries, so she googled my condition. I just paid to have her tell me exactly what I had already just googled before I left for my appointment. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Not a good sign
Today, I went to see my gynecologist. She was writing my symptoms up in my chart on her computer. After a little while, I noticed that she had a confused look on her face and was reading something instead. When I took a peek at the computer screen, I saw that she was Googling my symptoms. FML
Delay, deny, defend
Today, I finally got insurance after months of paperwork, and so I went to the doctor. I was billed $873 for a "consultation" that pretty much consisted of being weighed and told to "Google it." FML
Not again!
Today, I went to see a podiatrist, two weeks after having major surgery on my abdomen, only to be told I might need surgery on my foot. FML
Today, my boyfriend surprised me by offering me a foot massage to ease my sore feet after a run. I asked for a lot of pressure. Now I'm back home in a walking boot after being diagnosed with a fractured fifth metatarsal bone. FML
Today, I was at the doctor's getting some skin scraped off the bottom of my foot for some tests. As soon as the doctor grabbed my foot, it tickled and I accidentally kicked him in the face. During this, the blade sliced my foot open. FML
Healthcare crisis
Today, I finally went to an orthopedic doctor to figure out why my sprained ankle hasn’t healed and keeps getting worse. Turns out I have stress fractures and made them way worse by walking around on them for a month, because my regular doctor told me to stop being hysterical over a sprained ankle. FML
Wow thanks, I'm cured
Today, I went to a pain specialist to get help with my chronic pain. He did not diagnose anything or discuss causes. He then said, "Good luck with that" as I left. Of course, I still got billed. FML
Fraudology
Today, even though I know better than to trust doctor Google on any kind of diagnosis, and with my chiropractor and doctor being completely clueless as to what my constant pain in my right buttock was, I found piriformus syndrome. A condition that perfectly mimics sciatica nerve pain. How did my chiropractor miss this? FML
Doctor Google
Today, my mother-in-law 'corrected' me while I was trying to help her father with his Parkinson's medication. She went on and on about how she read on the internet about it. I'm a neurologist, but no, she knows better after a Google search. FML
STOOOOP
Today, I had surgery done to fix an ingrown toenail. When the doctor started cutting the nail, my toe wasn't entirely numb. FML

That is unacceptable. Don't pay her.

So why did you go to the doctor if you already knew what the problem was? Besides doctor's can't know everything and in the past they've constantly gone to look things up in books or asking other doctors. Using google is becoming more common since it gives them more resources to use.

Because she's NOT a doctor and self-diagnosing isn't always the best choice. But then again I can go to the doctor as often as I want for whatever I want cause Germany also has a good healthcare system. Seriously though, I once had problems with my toe on my right foot and thought I'd just hit it or something...until my nail started coming off and some pure nasty flesh started growing out of the nailbed...after that I figured it'd be better to go see a doctor right away next time. even if it's just pain in my freaking toe.

You really do deserve it. Don't be a pussy, stand up for yourself. You're paying her for her professional experience and knowledge on something, if she clearly doesn't have any then you're not obliged to pay her anything.

That's not true. The doctor would have every right to sue her if she didn't pay. They charge you just to make an appointment (sort of like a plumber charging just to come and look at something). Any proper diagnosis is extra.

GP are Jack of all trades but master of none. That's why there are specialists.

Time for a new doc. At the very least find a doc who will get consults or use a medical text. Rather than google... you're paying for her education, not her internet service.

If you think health care in the US is expense now, just wait until it's free!

This is the stupidest FML yet. This happens every day to TONS of people. Gotta go to a doc before you can get a prescription. Ugh, moderators? Helloooooo?
