Today, I got fired as a waiter because I refused to serve alcohol to a pregnant woman and she reported me. Turns out she's not pregnant, she's just a fat Karen. FML

Today, I refused to serve a woman alcohol, as she looked underage. She complained to my manager about "age racism." FML
Today, I'm 8 months pregnant and still waitressing at a local restaurant. There were only 3 of us serving today and things were hectic. One guy bitched me out, saying "Maybe if you lost some weight you'd walk a little faster!" because I wasn't fast enough with his soup. FML
Today, at work, someone heard me throw up. I then got called aside and told being hungover at work is unacceptable. I don't drink. I'm pregnant. FML
Today, I got fired for not being mature enough. I just found out I’m pregnant. FML
Today, I was fired from my job as a waitress, all because someone complained there was too much seasoning in their food. As I said, I'm a waitress. This happened the same week I was hired. FML
Today, I got fired from my job at a weight-loss center because I was too skinny, and apparently it's too depressing for the customers to handle. FML
Today, I was working at a local restaurant when another server's table called me over to ask if I've "ever killed anybody". They informed me I looked like a serial killer. I informed them, of course, that I have never killed anybody. Another customer claimed I scared her child. I was fired. FML
Today, I was working at the local liquor store. An obviously drunk girl stumbles in, grabs two cases of beer and puts them on the counter. Then she grabs a pregnancy test, pees on it right there, shows me, and says, "I'm not pregnant, I want beer." FML
Today, I was called to be told I'm fired for not showing up for my shift. I guess she didn't check her voice message to see that I gave birth last night. FML
Today, I was fired from my job. My boss claimed it was because I smelled like alcohol, never mind the fact that my job was brewmaster at a beer company. FML

NEVER EVER assume a woman is pregnant unless she tells you. She doesn't even deserve to be called a Karen, don't blame her for being pissed.

while it may not be the best decision for them, it's not illegal for pregnant women to drink. remember that before you screw up another job. I just saw a seventy year old woman who literally had a baby bump shaped stomach... just sayin

Hey asshole, this is totally OP's fault. There was no reason to refuse service, and the customer had every right to report OP for not accepting her order. Also, we only have OP's word that this woman was rude and entitled, but based on their own admission that they didn't do their job correctly, it's a safe bet OP is fishing for back up instead of admitting they ****** up. Good luck living on welfare, OP. YDI.

Technically they could be sued either way. If they serve a pregnant woman alcohol that's negligence, if they don't, and she isn't, that's discrimination.

Not true. OP has no say in refusal of service unless word has come down from management first. It's not OP's call to prevent a customer from drinking alcohol even if they confirm they're pregnant. What's he gonna do next? Prevent some middle-aged dude from eating a steak because of the risk of a heart attack? He's not a doctor, he's a former waiter who should have done his job correctly.

A waiter cannot refuse to serve women who look like they are pregnant. That limit a woman's right to drink based on both her gender and her medical condition. This is a violation of the Civil Liberties Act and, despite the fact that she is pregnant and the fact that alcohol is known to cause fetal complications, the woman's right to make choices about her body is hers alone. YATA

It's bananas to me that this is correct. Pregnancy/women is actually a protected class so it's discrimination to not serve her. However if he does serve a pregnant women, that's negligence, which they could be sued over. I would have thought the right to refuse service would cover this but not in the case of sex/pregnancy discrimination.
