Today, I watched one of my neighbor's trees fall into the electrical lines outside my house. This was after he took a chainsaw to the tree. He refuses to cover the damages. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I decided to clear up some storm damage. I carefully cut a tree that was threatening to fall on my house. It fell on my neighbor's house instead. He's taking me to court for damages. FML
Today, my neighbors threatened to sue me because a six-foot branch fell off one of my trees and into their yard, hitting nothing on the way down. FML
Today, the tree that my neighbors have neglected to cut down fell on my car. They claim that by law, they aren't responsible and don't have to pay for it. FML
Windy Williams
Today, I woke up at 4AM to the sound of lightning hitting a tree in my backyard, then that tree proceeding to hit my house. Later, my neighbor's tree fell over, which hit our fence, and they're not even home. FML
Too little, too late
Today, I finally went to Home Depot to buy a chainsaw to cut down the tree leaning dangerously over my garage. When I got home, I found the tree had fallen and taken out the roof while I was shopping. FML
Today, I was awakened by the sound of chain-saws. Moments later a tree branch came through my roof. FML
Wind? Thief? Hit and run?

Gimme the juice
Today, I was overjoyed when someone finally came to my house to get the electricity back up and running. All that was changed to dismay upon finding out they first needed to find a tree trimming and removal service to clean up all the fallen branches on the power lines. FML
Today, I got home to find my truck smashed by a fallen old tree. I was going to have the tree removed next week. FML

Take legal action or call the police, its damage of personal property and clearly you have the evidence in a form of a giant tree.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that OP. Do you have any proof that he made the tree fall?

The power company will make your neighbor pay for damages to their equipment/lines. However you'll have to file an insurance claim. Sorry but you can't force them to pay for damages and that's why you have insurance. You do have insurance right? Your premium should be raised because of damage caused by the neighbor. This type of situation is usually exempted from rate increases.

Usually in cases where someone other than the policy holder is responsible for the damages the policy holder's insurance will pay, then go after the responsible party.

Nope, your wrong. OP won't get charged at all. Only the neighbor who caused the damage.

Don't let someone get away with that shit! Sue him!

I'd sue him. Him cutting down the tree, it was foreseeable that it could fall into the power lines.

3 things. 1. Don't you mean telephone lines cuz rarely are there electrical lines outside someones house. 2.Idiots never wanna pay for things like this. They always think either tax payer money or the company should pay. 3. I hit a light pole down with my car once. I payed for it.
