Today, I was riding my bike with my parents. They make me wear a helmet when I'm with them. Some college age kids drove past and yelled, "Nice helmet!" My mother then told me, "They like you!" I'm sixteen and my helmet is blue. With flowers. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to an amusement park with my family. A couple of cute girls started talking to me, telling me how much they liked my dreads. Seeing this, my mother stepped up next to me, patted me on the shoulder, and said, "This here is my little baby, treat him nicely!" Thanks, Mom. FML
Safety first
Today, my mother finally pressured me to wear my old helmet while riding my bike. Halfway through my ride, 3 spiders came crawling out of it and onto my face, causing me to lose control of the bike and crash head-first. FML
Confused
Today, I was out shopping with my mom. While we were walking, a guy in a car honked at me. I'm not used to compliments, so I was pretty flattered and flashed him a smile. He looked back at me, confused, then shook his head and pointed at my mom. FML
Today, I was complimented on my hat by two different people. I wasn't wearing a hat. FML
Today, I found out while skiing that my dad likes to call me Pimple because I have a pink coat and white helmet. He has tried to squeeze me. FML
Today, a guy from work that I barely know gave me sunflowers for my birthday. He told me, "You mentioned they were your favorite." I mentioned it to my family at home a few days ago. FML
Today, I was volunteering at a school, as I walked past the swings these two girls smiled and said "wow, you are so pretty!". I smiled back and said "awww, well thank you!." As I walked past I hear them laughing, "she actually believed us." FML
Mostly OK
Today, I told my parents how grateful I am for having them in my life and that not many kids are as lucky as me. My mom texted me after I went out 10 minutes later: "Are you OK? You seemed depressed earlier." FML
Today, I was showing my 6-year-old son how easy and safe it is to ride a bike. I didn't notice a pebble, bust up my leg, and my son is now terrified of bicycles. FML
Dad jokes FTW!
Today, my father and I were out in town when a lady walked up and commented on what a great looking couple we were. My dad puts his arm around me and says, "Thank you! We've been together for 17 years." FML

At least you are being safe... I had a friend die because he wasn't wearing a helmet. your parents are smart.

As much as I personally would like a blue helmet with flowers, I understand. I'm a college kid, and I'm willing to risk brain injury than be seen using a helmet on campus.

You should've bought a new helmet if your flowery blue helmet is that ugly.

I stopped wearing a helmet because the strap blocks your peripheral vision. I was nearly hit by a car going 45mph. But of course, they have their benefits too. Either way, you should at least get a different helmet.

#83, if the OP did that, she would need to wear the helmet since her extreme anger would probably make her bang her head into the wall as well. Did anyone consider that maybe the OP doesn't ride her/his bike enough to actually make buying a new helmet worth it?...

All of you people on here who say you'd rather risk brain injury than look stupid deserve the brain injury. When it happens you'll understand that drooling and wearing a diaper are much more mortifying. WEAR A HELMET DUMB ASS.

Just paint the damn thing a different color then. Or suck it up. If you wear it with confidence no one will question it. God. *eyeroll*

#35 I actually find you insinuating that people might relate autism to retarded offensive. I'm autistic myself, and it has absolutely nothing to do with retardation. Also, are there actually countries where you have to wear helmets by law until you're 18?

I agree with everyone saying "just buy a new helmet" if you're embarrassed by it then get a new one and stop bitching about your parents caring about your saftey.

I think it's becoming more and more common to wear helmets. I see people wearing them every single day. - Looks fine to me :)
