Today, I was diagnosed with depression. My girlfriend's idea of consoling me was to break up with me because she can't date a "psycho". FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Moving day
Today, I told to my girlfriend of 5 years that I'm depressed about having no friends, no job and a difficult family life. I told her that she's the one constant that keeps me going. She decided this was a good time to break up with me to "find" herself, since I was being so mopey. FML
Nervous
Today, I went to see my girlfriend to talk about my anxiety, because it's been a big issue. She broke up with me instead. FML
Awks
Today, my girlfriend's mom pulled me aside and started telling me about how her daughter was extremely depressed and suicidal before she met me, and how happy her family is because of me. I was planning on breaking up with her within the next week. FML
Today, my girlfriend's best friend was dumped, and was absolutely depressed. My girlfriend thought she'd show her sympathy by breaking up with me so they "could be single together." FML
Today, I admitted to my boyfriend of three years that I have been suffering from depression for a while now. He took it as a good time to dump me. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because "we don't communicate enough". She got her friend to tell me this for her. FML
Today, my psychologist broke up with me, professionally. It's alright though, she told me it's her, not me. FML
Movie night
Today, my girlfriend decided that the best place to break up with me was during a movie about two couples breaking up. FML
Today, my girlfriend sent her new boyfriend over to my place to break up with me for her. FML
Sweet relief
Today, I broke up with my girlfriend. She was ecstatic. Apparently, she'd been trying to figure out how to break up with me for the past four months. FML

You don't need her. You need someone who is a lot more compassionate.

Thats crazy. Im so sorry, not much of a loss if that was her reason for breaking up with you.

I'm sorry but you are definitely better off with out her! Depression is a difficult illness you are not a "psyco" in anyway. You will get there!

I am sorry to hear that. My husband did the same thing to me, after 14 years of marriage. It is important to know that you aren't alone, there are millions of people fighting. Personally, I think she is the one with the issues if she couldn't deal.

Yikes, she needs some education, stat! Sorry, OP D: It is good for the long run that you are no longer with her, but it sucks that it hurts now :(

Erm, you do realise that depression is not the same as your ex, right? Depression does not equal anger issues or any kind of danger. I do not think it is at all helpful for you to compare your situation with this one.

I've battled my demons my whole life. I've been in the situation from your post before. The beliefs about mental health need the change. OP, if you need a non-judgmental ear, please, feel free to message me anytime.

I'm in the depression boat too buddy. Don't worry, you'll find someone who actually appreciates and cats about you, then it will almost be like you aren't depressed.

Once again I question the intelligence of people and my idea that people are actually getting better than they were in the 50s

I actually recently read something that said the average teen of this generation is under more stress than that of an adult from the 50s
