Today, I was at work when a co-worker decided it would be funny to email me from my boss's computer to tell me I had been laid off. It wasn't funny when I was fired for real after "skipping work without giving notice." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boss let me know that I'm being laid off, via a text message that ended in "lmao". FML
Playing with fire
Today, my boss called me to inform me that I'm being laid off. In my ensuing fit of rage, I deleted the recent project I've been working on for weeks. Pretty soon after, he called me back to let me know it was a prank. FML
Today, my boss suspended me for laughing too hard at my desk and causing a big scene in front of our customers. I was laughing because he'd forwarded me a hilarious email. He was practically smirking as he handed me my official warning. FML
Today, at work, I stepped out for a few minutes to use the bathroom. Shortly after returning, I found out the hard way that one of my coworkers had used my computer to send a profanity-filled email to our boss, calling him an asshole and telling him to go fuck himself. I'm now jobless. FML
Today, my boss tried to fire me for not emailing him a screenshot to prove my email wasn't working. FML
Make your mind up
Today, when I got to work, I found out that I was being laid off. Two hours later, I found out my boss had my name on the wrong list. I was elated. I went to lunch, but on the way back was rear-ended, in the rain. I was an hour and a half late getting back to work. I was fired upon returning. FML
Bye bye
Today, I found out that I was being laid off via an email that wasn't even spell checked. FML
Red flags
Today, at work one of my co-worker was oddly nice to me; and my boss, who usually always says hi to me, didn't look or speak to me. Later that day I found out that I was going to be fired, not because my boss told me but because my picture was missing from the wall of employees. FML
Today, my girlfriend came to my workplace to tell me she was breaking up with me. My boss, who was passing by, fired me for "chatting with friends" during work hours. FML
Today, it's my birthday and I had to work. My boss wished me a happy birthday, and then told me I was fired. FML

In two weeks time when he is at work go to his house. In the backyard on the way to the clothes line cut a large section of the turf and roll it up before you dig a large coffin sized hole six feet deep and line it with bin liners. Fill it with fake blood (corn syrup(golden syrup) water and food dye). Lay a couple of thin sticks from one side of the hole to the other (dig it into the sides) and lay the turf over it. Pull some grass out from another part of the yard and try to match the turf you cut with the rest of the lawn. Now use some more fake blood and write ha on a clean white sheet and hang it on his line. When he gets home make some noise in the yard so he looks out and sees the sheet, comes out and falls into the hole. Hold his head under. Leave.

You don't think spending your last seconds on earth confused, scared and drowning in what appeared to be blood as you fell into it is tormenting?

Umm yes but moving right along now... Lol

"You wanna hear a really cool torture that the Romans invented? They also used it as a form of capital punishment, it's *really* creative. They would take the guy in question, stuff him in a burlap sack, seal the sack up real tight and throw it in the river. But, and here's the creative part, inside the sack, with the guy, they would put a dog, a monkey, and a snake. Okay? A dog, a monkey, and a snake. That's ******* creative! Imagine being inside a burlap sack, underwater, in the dark, sitting next to a drowning monkey. Think he'd be moving around a little bit? The dog would be going apeshit, we know that. And the snake? Well, he'd probably be getting curious about what all the activity was inside the sack. He might do anything. Whatever he did would probably involve venom and his teeth. You know what you'd be doing? You'd be praying to God that the snake bit the monkey and the dog ate the snake." - George Carlin

This sounds like such a great prank to pull around Halloween. Just saying. Your friend or victim would shit their pants. It doesn't even have to be six feet, just has to get them!

Is it weird that I'm looking back and I have no recollection of reading this fml or comment? ... o.O

YDI. I would have gotten to the boss ASAP once I gotten that email.
False_Stupidity 42
Except that the boss was likely not in the office or else the co-worker would not have been able to use the bosses computer.

ASAP doesn't mean attempt once at running into him and cease trying to make contact if unavailable...

Woah, talk about screwing your co-workers. It's a bad economy I guess! Better go talk to your boss.

Your Co Worker probably doesn't know that part of a prank/joke is to let you know it was a prank/joke, otherwise it's just a lie.

If your friend doesn't help fix he is no friend.

Nobody said he WAS a friend to begin with... Except people who didn't properly read the FML...

What a dick. Seriously..

This reminds me of My Best Friend's Wedding, except your coworkers aren't trying to get in your pants.

While your co-worker is working, make his girlfriend or wife cheat on him with you. Best payback

You can't just "make somebody cheat" on their bf/gf.

You should have called your boss to follow up! I've never heard of a place firing you via email, and if your co-worker did that he should be the one getting canned.

Seen firing by SMS before from a particularly obnoxious company who thought they could do what they want.
