Today, I walked in on my mom drenched in tears, barely able to speak. I ran to get her some tissues and a nice cup of tea to calm her down. After a few minutes of sitting in silence, I asked her if she wanted to talk about what happened. She watched an episode of Gossip Girl. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while I was working my shift at the store, my girlfriend appeared and asked to talk to me. Once we were alone, she burst into tears and started sobbing. Turns out someone's dad died in her favorite TV show and she wanted some comfort. FML
Today, I woke up to a blood-curdling scream from the living room. I jumped up and went running, only to find out it was my mother, who'd screamed at some dramatic plot twist in a Sex and the City episode. FML
Today, I walked through my college dorm and a freshman was watching some overly dramatic show on her laptop. I smiled and asked if it was a new episode of 'Gossip Girl.' She was on a video chat with her boyfriend. They were about to break up. FML
Drunk mom
Today, I heard my mom sobbing in the bathroom. Concerned, I went in to see what was wrong. I found her sitting on the toilet, pants down and a cigarette between her fingers. When I asked what was going on, she looked up at me and slurred that we'd run out of "shit-wipes." FML
Safe space
Today, my girlfriend got into a huge fight with her mom over the phone. After the fight, she looked ready to cry so I went over to comfort her. She went straight past me, and started confiding in her creepy, extremely expensive dolls instead. FML
Priorities
Today, I was feeling depressed. I overheard my mom crying on the phone. She said, “If my daughter kills herself, who’s going to do the dishes?” FML
Today, I went for a run. When I got home, no one was there so I took off my clothes and laid on the cool wood floor. I decided to call my girlfriend and we started talking in baby voices. That's when my mom walked into the house witnessing everything. FML
Supportive
Today, I was crying after having argued with my boyfriend. My mom saw me, she asked, "Why are you crying? Don't you have homework to do?" FML
Today, I had red eyes from crying, and everyone assumed that my mom, who has been seriously ill, had died so they tried comforting me. It was quite embarrassing to have to tell them that it was because I'd just watched the last episode of season 4 of Veronica Mars. FML
Mom of the year
Today, I told my mom that I'd vomited blood. She simply said, “Good” and went back to watching TV. FML

I'm all for being immersed in films and series and stuff, really getting emotions out; catharsis and all that... But Gossip Girl?

How old is she? It might be a hormonal thing. We ladies can't always control when we cry, you know.

She's his mom.
Serisent 26
Yes, I understood that. I'm saying depending on how old she is she might be experiencing a hormonal shift like menopause.

o come on the just TV shows. I don't see any reason to get all teary eyed distraught over an episode. there's a difference between reality and fiction she needs to learn it

Haven't you ever cried at the end of a movie? Or a good book? Sometimes these things just hit us in certain ways.

You added absolutely nothing, just by telling you that you added nothing, I'd say i've contributed more to this FML. Your comment should be an FML in itself.
LaLince 40
At least she commented the FML. Not like you.

Well at least your mom knows that she has a shoulder to cry on! Good job of being supportive, although I could think of more dramatic reasons to. Oh well, maybe she had a bad day on top of watching a sad episode?
