Today, I tried to buy a bottle of wine from the supermarket. The scrawny, acne-ridden kid at the checkout asked to see my ID. I didn't have any on me, since I'm 37 years old and didn't expect to be asked stupid questions. I complained to his manager, only to be asked to leave. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Humblebrag in disguise
Today, while buying drinks, the cashier immediately refused me and said, “Don’t even bother showing me your ID, you’re obviously 12." I’m 31. FML
Today, I tried buying alcohol for the first time. I have a baby face, so I had my ID ready. The store owner admitted that my ID looked real enough, but he wouldn't believe it wasn't just an elaborate fake. He very nearly called the cops on me. FML
Today, I went to buy some Ibuprofen and got asked for ID. You have to be over 16 to buy it. I'm 25. FML
Alcohol isn't a drug, it's a drink
Today, I was carded for trying to buy wine and was told the dates were faded, so they wouldn’t be selling it to me, since they suspected I was underage. I work at the vineyard that produces the wine, I’m the head vintner, and I made the wine in the bottle I wasn’t allowed to buy. FML
Sting
Today, when I went to the gas station to buy beer, some underage punk outside asked me to buy him booze. I told him to get bent, but the dumbass cashier had seen me talking to him, and refused to let me buy alcohol because, "This is obviously a sting." FML
Today, I bought a small bottle of liquor to share with my husband to celebrate our move. It took three hours at the store as the cashier, manager, GM, and a police officer checked my ID believing it was fake. I'm 25. FML
Today, I went to buy some beer using my fake ID, when the cute cashier and I started flirting. When he asked me how old I was, I said without thinking, "Nineteen." FML
You never know
Today, I was fired for not asking a senior citizen for proof that he was over 21 and legally allowed to purchase alcohol. When I told my manager he was clearly over 21, he replied, "But what if he WASN'T?" FML
Company policy
Today my job started requiring all transactions regarding cigarettes or alcohol to have the ID scanned before proceeding. There is no way yo bypass this function. I carded a 60 year-old man and his 40 year-old son who both yelled at me for 10 minutes. FML
Today, I went to see a movie. While buying tickets, the girl behind the counter asked to show my ID card to proof I'm at least 16 years old. Not wanting to make a drama, I showed it. She took a look at it and declared it as fake. That ID is real and I'm 24. FML

You sound like an utter bitch by the fact that you have to describe a completely irrelevant detail with the kid being acne ridden. Next time, bring your ID and stop acting like such an entitled baby.

Shouldn't you always have your I.D? What if a cop pulled you over?

Did you happen to forget that they're required to ask for ID? Either way you're a moron.

i forgot my ID at a restaurant recently and was refused alcohol ... so do you know what i did? i didn't blame the waitress, i didn't complain to the manager, because i'm not like a whiny little bitch like you. i went home and got my ID because i was the irresponsible person who forgot it in the first place. maybe you should have done the same. the rules apply to everyone including you. YDI.

Under most state laws the cashier must I.D. Anyone that may be under the age of 40, it's not his fault he doesn't want a fine, possible jail time, and to lose his job. It's not a stupid question and you sir are a moron for describing the cashier in a negative light based solely on your bad experience.

The UK is not a state though. Some stores have a policy of if you look under 25 they *might* ID you but It rarely happens.
