Today, I told my boyfriend that I didn't want to go out with him because I was having a fat day. After ten minutes of fighting, he threw a ring box on the floor and stormed out. I basically refused his proposal because of my body issues. FML

Today, my fiancé and I had a fight because he wouldn't let me get what I wanted to eat, even though it was my money. He said, "It's way too many calories. I'm supposed to help you lose weight." When I pointed out that I had given up a month ago, he looked at me and said, "Yeah, I can tell." FML
Today, I broke up with my boyfriend because I was tired of waiting for him to propose. It turns out he was going to propose and had the ring and everything, but I fucked it all up. FML
Today, I went to go meet my boyfriend at a restaurant to tell him it just wasn't working out. Before I could do so, he proposed. I had to tell him no, so he started to cry and ran out. Everyone looked at me like some kind of monster. FML
Today, my boyfriend's proposal speech somehow ended with him breaking up with me. FML
Today, I was out with my boyfriend, when he started browsing wedding rings. He found a ring, proposed to me right there in front of a crowd, and then was promptly denied a payment plan. We left without a ring. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping for an engagement ring. We ended up breaking up in the process. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend of ten months that I'm not ready for marriage. A few hours later he proposed at my grandma's 85th birthday party. She cried when I said no. FML
Today, I tried to break up with my boyfriend. He said no. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes, but the ring turned out to be quite tight on her finger. She then chewed me out, saying that I can't do anything right, then changed her answer to no. FML

Well I don't understand why he couldnt of done it another day, but then again I've never planned to propose.. But I also hate how girls will look pretty and find something small thats wrong with them and complain about it..

I don't think the average person has such dramatic occurrences of self-consciousness that they won't go out into public, despite the adamant pleading of someone who obviously cared very much about you. Ten whole minutes! Maybe this is a good indicator of the possibility of deeper issues. Or maybe not. Good luck next time, I guess.

Bigger is beauty the skinny girls have nothing on a girl that has meat on her bones it's just that guys are stupid and think that they have to be with a skinny girl well most of them like to have something to grab on to. Normally when I read anything about someone's weight, I get angry at people saying they're fat because only one body type is accepted in society. But this is where I draw the line - a fat day and you couldn't go out and have fun? You're as bad as the people who bash other people for being heavy. You were afraid you wouldn't look like a model outside so you stayed in and whined to your boyfriend about it, thus resulting in no proposal for you. I'm glad he didn't propose, you sound like a self-centered brat who needs to realize that you don't have to be a stick to leave the house. A fat day? More like a PMS day, the fat caused by bloating...for once, I can say YDI on a fat FML.

Yes, we get bloated on our periods. It happens. But she's still stupid for not going. If my boyfriend told me to go somewhere and I said I was having a fat day and he insisted, then I'd go. Wear a loose shirt or dress or something, geez...

Literally want to throw something at you to make you understand that you should get off your ass and go out because you obviously miss out on things when you don't... Even of you are fat he was gonna ask you to marry him anyway. Get over yourself.

I don't blame the poster of this FML for having a "fat day", nor for her denying the trip out for what she later learned was a proposal. I blame her, and every other woman on here, for believing every word of those "women's magazines" that are not really helpful, but designed by other women to make as many women that are not them feel like crap. Body issues are NORMAL... believing that they should interfere with everyday life to that extend is not.
