Today, I told my boyfriend that I didn't want to go out with him because I was having a fat day. After ten minutes of fighting, he threw a ring box on the floor and stormed out. I basically refused his proposal because of my body issues. FML

Today, I broke up with my boyfriend because I was tired of waiting for him to propose. It turns out he was going to propose and had the ring and everything, but I fucked it all up. FML
Today, I went to go meet my boyfriend at a restaurant to tell him it just wasn't working out. Before I could do so, he proposed. I had to tell him no, so he started to cry and ran out. Everyone looked at me like some kind of monster. FML
Today, my boyfriend's proposal speech somehow ended with him breaking up with me. FML
Today, I was out with my boyfriend, when he started browsing wedding rings. He found a ring, proposed to me right there in front of a crowd, and then was promptly denied a payment plan. We left without a ring. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping for an engagement ring. We ended up breaking up in the process. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend of ten months that I'm not ready for marriage. A few hours later he proposed at my grandma's 85th birthday party. She cried when I said no. FML
Today, I tried to break up with my boyfriend. He said no. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes, but the ring turned out to be quite tight on her finger. She then chewed me out, saying that I can't do anything right, then changed her answer to no. FML

Well I don't understand why he couldnt of done it another day, but then again I've never planned to propose.. But I also hate how girls will look pretty and find something small thats wrong with them and complain about it..

am i the only one who doesnt neccesarily thinks she deserves it? none of us know how much she weighs and what she looks like really. the way i read this is she just didnt feel like going out to eat that specific night bc she was in one of those "eat everything in sight" moods.. girls get that a lot, especially before and on their periods... in my opinion i just see this FML as her boyfriend overreacting. he could have waited a couple of days to do it, he didnt have to overreact like a baby... not every single lady out there wants to go out to eat everytime their man asks them..

If he really wants to marry her, his reaction to her not wanting to go out on the day of his planned proposal should be more along the lines of "That's disappointing; I guess I'll have to ask her tomorrow" instead of "Fine then! I'll throw the ring box at her so she'll see what she's missing!"

It's obvious you aren't male. Proposing to someone is a huge deal and you don't just shrug it off and "try again tomorrow". The act of proposing is a major move for the individual, that often takes a lot of time, effort and planning.

yes that is true, speaking for myself im not a male, but if i was a male and was planning to propose, i wouldnt act like a baby if my girlfriend didnt want to go out that night. obviously she didnt know she was going to get proposed tooo.. he could have reacted differently, like may something like "can we do this tomorrow night or a night this week?" and maybe try to make an agreement with her. if he had reservations, then that really sucks, but throwing the ring box down like a 12 year old throwing a tantrum? it almost seems like hes not even ready to get married.. she didnt know he was going to propose and he should have reacted more mature
