Today, my wife announced that she wanted a divorce. She'd actually started dating another man a few months ago, but she wanted to drag our marriage out as long as possible just in case her new relationship fell through. FML
Today, my wife asked me to come talk to her in the bedroom. Thinking she wanted to have a quickie while her sister was spending time with our son, I rushed into the room. She didn't want a quickie, she wanted a divorce. FML
Today, my wife told me that she wants a divorce. Apparently, I'm taking too long to forgive her for having an affair. FML
Today, my wife of 23 years said she wanted a divorce, that she didn't love me anymore and is moving out. Why? I told her I didn't want us to date and have sex with other people. FML
Today, my my soon to be ex-wife found out I was telling the truth and never cheated. She wanted to get back together but I told her that we're too far into the divorce proceedings to turn back, and there's just no fixing our marriage. She then told me she's filing for full custody with no visitation rights. FML
Today, I woke up realizing my wife of less than a year of marriage wants a divorce. We have known each other for 15 years. FML
Today, I started to fall in love with my wife again. We are in the middle of a divorce. FML
Today, my wife and I were having amazing make up sex after several months of painful separation. Halfway through, she screamed for me to stop, climbed off the bed, and ran into the bathroom. She spent an hour screaming and crying, then came out and emotionlessly told me to leave. FML
Today, my girlfriend of almost 3 years told me we needed a break, and that we could try again at the end of the year. FML
Today, a year after we agreed to a divorce, my wife and I are still married and living together because it's not financially possible for us to split. We get along well enough, but I'm ready to move on. She's already moving on, according to the boyfriend she's been seeing for months. FML

Some things you just can't change. It's unfortunate we can't always tell what the other person is feeling. At least you were able to enjoy a nice date with your wife before the divorce. Good luck with what comes next--if you look at it as an exciting new start with the next part of your life it may make things a tiny bit easier!

Sorry to hear OP. But now you know where you stand. Chin up and move on. It's rough when you still care for that person. But for self preservation purposes...It needs to be done.

I know the feeling. For me it was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with in my life, but one morning I woke up and felt a lot better about things, and it got easier after that.

I'm sorry OP... I read this FML & broke down crying because I am going through the exact thing only switched rolls! My husband wanted the separation, we are still close friends and I love him more than ever, we had sex last week and since then has been holding fast to his decision that we need to divorce! My world is in a million pieces and I'm not sure if I will ever be able to trust/love again! You are not alone in the world OP! I am learning to say " I'm surviving!" :-)
