Today, I spoke with my boyfriend about where we want to live when I graduate. He says he doesn't know what he wants and his mother wouldn't approve of us living together. We've been together 3 years with the understanding we would live together once I graduated my Master's. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boyfriend told me that we wouldn't move in together as we had planned to do for a long time. His mother forbade it. He is 27. FML
Today, after months of planning, my boyfriend told me he's changed his mind and doesn’t want to move with me to where I got a job. Why? He doesn’t want to live that far away from his mother. FML
Time to run
Today, while I was looking for an apartment for my boyfriend and myself, he asked me how would I feel about his mom moving in together with us. FML
Today, after a year of living with my boyfriend at our new place, he told me that he wants to sell our house and live in a trailer, so he can be closer to his mom. FML
Today, I changed all my plans, after months of him begging me to, so I could go to the same university as my long-term boyfriend. After I sent in my deposit, he told me we couldn't live together in college because I was "invading his space." FML
Today, I learned that my 29-year-old boyfriend won't stay the night at my house because he lives at home with his parents and doesn't want to have "the discussion" with his mom about me. FML
Today, my boyfriend of 8 years moved in with two other women. He's spent the past 2 years telling me he can't afford to move out of his parent's house. FML
Afterthought
Today, my boyfriend admitted that he never thought we had a future together. He just wanted to move in together so he could get "cheaper rent for a while." FML
Take the hints
Today, my boyfriend declared he doesn't feel ready to move in with me for at least "some more years". We have already been together for five years. When he bought an apartment one year ago, he kept it a secret for three months. Maybe I should learn to take a hint. Or several hints. FML
Mama Bear
Today, I met my boyfriend's parents. We've been dating for almost 5 months and are extremely in love. His mom basically said to me, "I want what’s best for my son and you aren’t it." FML

If he's backing out because of his mom, I'd be wary of her always being a third party in your relationship.

Is your boyfriend 9 years old? Leave him in his mommy's basement and try dating an actual adult. He's got some issues, I'd take this a sign to get the hell out before it's too late.

Like everyone else above, I agree that your next boyfriend should be an adult.

Give him a choice- live together, get married or goodbye. Personally I'd suggest goodbye. If he's a mamas boy now he'll always be a mamas boy.

He's scared, which is normal and maybe he just needs some time or some talking. It could be the case he does want to back out of it, so in any case you just talk openly about what each of you want. It's always better to know the real truth than to comfort yourself with illusions or even worse torture yourself with fears.

Get out of that "relationship" now. I can only assume the both of you are at least in your mid-20's, and yet he is still worried about what his mother thinks in regards to him making his own grown-up choices. It won't change. Believe me, it won't.
