Today, I spent my day alone while my parents and siblings were at school and work. Trying to be helpful, I cleaned out the fridge, did 5 loads of laundry, worked outside, fed the pets, and made dinner for the entire family. The evening was spent hearing complaints about how wrong I did everything. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Can't win, part 15
Today, while my parents were grocery shopping, I cleaned the kitchen, swept floors, did laundry, and cleaned bathrooms, only to finish right before they got home. After dinner, my dad bitched and complained that I didn't take out the trash and he had no room to throw away his paper plate. FML
Help out or get out
Today, I had an very long day at work. I also had to take my daughter to the dentist and ballet class. Later, my 3 year-old son was having a diarrhoea, needing care, yet I pulled myself up, cooked, fed, read, cleaned the whole house except the kids' bedroom. My brother-in-law came, looked only at that and judged me horribly. FML
Can't win
Today, I made breakfast for the family. Perfect. Did all the Laundry. Great. Drove the one and a half hour round trip to take my stepdaughter to work. Blah. Finished off by doing some housework and cooking dinner. The dinner wasn't perfect, and my wife told me that for all the good I do, I ruin everything. FML
Quality family time
Today, after a long talk with the kids, I finally got all the chores around the house done early so we could have a fun family weekend. My wife decided to be a wet blanket and insisted we needed to deep clean the already clean kitchen. Three arguments later, everyone is sulking, and I'm working in the kitchen alone. FML
So unfair
Today, my mom asked my siblings and me for help cleaning the kitchen. After working for a half hour while all my siblings sat on the couch, I pointed out that I was the only one working. My mom thanked my siblings for not having attitudes like mine and sent me to my room. FML
Never enough
Today, I spent all day doing chores around the house, including mowing and raking the lawn, paying bills, going to the store, meal prepping, and cleaning the fridge. When I sat down to enjoy some well-earned games, my girlfriend sighed and asked if I ever planned to contribute anything to our relationship. FML
Never enough
Today, after weeks of my girlfriend complaining that I don't help with the chores, I secretly took a day off work to deal with some that were piling up. When she got home, all she could do was complain about how I hadn't done more. FML
Today, my parents came home after being out of town for the weekend. I stayed home, did homework and completely cleaned the house, thinking I could earn some brownie points with them. They saw how clean the house was and accused me of covering up a party. FML
Clean freak
Today, at home, I always do my share of the chores. I just got back from a business trip and it turns out that I actually do ALL the chores. My wife was alone for 9 days, the kitchen was a in state, dirty laundry everywhere, cat litter box overflowing onto the floor, and the bathroom was fucking disgusting. FML
One happy family
Today, I spent hours cooking an amazing dinner for my family, who had just gotten home from a trip, so we could spend some time together because I'd started to miss everyone. When they got home, they saw it all laid out and just took plates to their room, without even telling me they were home. FML

Lovely. Of course, if you had done nothing all day, they would have complained about that too. Should have told them to do it themselves then.

Sounds like my family! I just stop trying to do anything for a few days but nobody has time for anything, so house looks like shit and they look at me as if I am at fault. Yeah, not quite.

That's family for you. Next time tell them "If you want something done right then get off your lazy ass and do it yourself, otherwise be thankful I did it for you!" It worked for me.

The worst part about well-meaning people is that when they **** something up, you become the bad guy and feel guilty for getting angry with them. The types of chores OP did are easily botched (maybe barring the fridge cleaning) if they were meant to be done a certain way. Even the pet feeding; our dog is on medicated food and eats strict servings on a set schedule, so my mom flips the **** out on my sister when she just goes and dumps a bunch of food into her bowl, then tells her "don't worry about feeding the dog, I took care of it!" If you don't usually do that chore, DON'T DO IT WITHOUT ASKING. At least then you can be given instructions. YDI all the way. Upsetting, but you brought it on yourself.

FYL OP... I remember, I stayed home from school once and I felt bad so I cleaned the entire kitchen. My dad came home and got so excited that he took us all out to dinner and got me a special ice cream treat! I still hate the jack ass though. OP FYL.

One of the reasons I moved out of the house almost the very day I graduated high school -- Every time I did my chores, I "did them wrong" and would get bitched at. My Mom would slam the cabinet doors open and shut when she'd start making dinner just to make me feel worse cause she's throwing her temper. And any time I wasn't home for a while and returned, I would get bitched at cause nothing got done while I was away and it was all my fault. I suffered depression because I felt like I was nothing more than a pain in their ass and felt like I shouldn't exist in their household, and only now do they realize that. They treated my kid sister like a princess while I was treated like shit. They respect me now, any time I come over for a holiday or something, but I'll never truly forgive them for how miserable they made me feel for six years. I still love them cause they're family, but I still hate them because of what they did. I'm rambling now. Sorry.

Ugh dude I totally hate that. I do shit for my mom all the time and shes always bitching about how I "dont do anything around the house" and how "lazy and irresponsible" I am. It sucks balls.
