Today, while observing a surgery, I was asked to open a glass ampule of adrenaline. Not only did I break it and get it everywhere, I sliced open my thumb bad enough to need stitches. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Glassed
Today, I reached for my lip balm while laying in bed in the dark. I accidentally knocked my bedside lamp, and it fell on my hand and shattered. A huge glass fragment impaled my hand. I just got out of surgery. FML
Today, I was cutting some paper when I accidentally cut a sizeable chunk out of my finger. I went to my car to get my bumbag (I'm a lifeguard) so I could patch it up. I then promptly got a large piece of glass in my foot. FML
Today, I cut my finger open with a spoon. After waiting for 4 hours in the emergency room, the doctor told me I was missing too much flesh to qualify for stitches. He then called 2 other doctors in to examine it. Apparently they had a contest for patient with most ridiculous injury. I won. FML
Today, as part of my job as a performer, I had to show off my skills with a switchblade in front of an audience. A kid shot a rubber band at me. I then needed stitches. FML
Fragile
Today, I attempted to open a water bottle. My hand started bleeding before I was able to get the cap loose. FML
Not my day, is it?
Today, I was washing the dishes when I gave myself a nasty gash on my leg from the open dishwasher door. After five minutes of cleaning up the blood and wrapping it up, I came back to finish the job only to drop a plate and send broken shards into my foot. FML
Snowflake
Today, while I was at work in a machine shop, I cut myself really bad. Not with any of the sharp tools, drills, or metals I work with. Just the soap dispenser. FML
Gammon
Today, while demonstrating our new meat slicer at work, and after sharpening the blade at the end of the demonstration, I noticed some metal powder. I grabbed a rag to wipe it off, not realizing the blade was still in the “open” position. I now have six stitches and a really painful finger. FML
Getting a head start on the Halloween look
Today, while washing dishes for my friend, I managed to break an unbreakable glass and slice my hand open on it. FML
Slasher
Today, I sliced my finger open because my roommate's girlfriend put a broken ceramic plate in the recycling. I was putting some paper in the bin and all of a sudden, an inch and a half of my flesh is naked to the world. I don't have medical insurance, so I fixed it with Superglue. FML

FYL OP. As a healthcare worker myself I can attest that some ampoules are a bitch to open up whether due to poor design or manufacturing defect. Some inevitably will blow up in your fingers. I had my finger nicked a few times myself. God knows why we keep using these annoying little things.

Because they're hermetically sealed and the sealed glass is less susceptible to foreign gasses and liquids.

Yep I did the same thing last week! And after 5 years of not realising, the surgeon mentioned there is a little dot on one side of the top where you should crack the ampule AWAY from. Just in case you didn't realise it either!

If the ampoule feels difficult to open, I use an unopened alcohol swab as a barrier between me and the glass. There are even ampoule openers available for purchase. Sometimes they're just damn stubborn to open. Hopefully you didn't feel the effects of the adrenaline ☺

I use an unopened alcohol swab every time. I don't want to be a statistic!

You really shouldn't of got cut up buy it. Accidents happen

I don't really think there is a "should or shouldn't" about getting cut by things on accident. Unless you were attempting to make a pun, in which case better luck next time.

Meh, screwed it up rushing. Concept was there so get off your high horse.

Well at least you know you're going into the right line of work. that way you can fix yourself up everytime you're clumsy enough to hurt yourself.... or maybe that means you're going into the wrong one....

Don't suppose you got a hit of the adrenaline when it got in the wound?
StiffPvtParts 43
Even if it didn't get in his wound, I'm pretty sure OP got quite a rush of adrenaline just from the shock of when it it shattered within his grasp xD
