Today, I marched into my workplace yelling "take this job and shove it", under the impression I would be on a flight in a few days out of here. However, the airline has informed me I cannot fly until April because cargo is too cold for my dog this time of year. Jobless, four weeks to wait. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Get it done
Today, I work in aircraft ground handling. My employer is short-staffed and told us to stop even trying to load people’s luggage onto the plane with them, and to just throw it on a huge heap in the basement and sort it all out in a few months when things are less busy. FML
Well shit.
Today, after moving 1,400 miles across the country, quitting my full-time job, and selling most of my furniture to attend flight school, I got a call a month before my start date saying that they are closing my location. FML
Late late flight
Today, I was waiting at the airport for a flight when I looked down and realised that I had booked the wrong date. Frantically, I tried to rebook the flight, but it was completely sold out. Now, I'm stuck in the airport for the next 24 hours with nothing to do. FML
Today, I handed my boss my 2 weeks' notice. 20 minutes later, I was doing my work alone in the very cold basement of the building. My boss claimed it was a routine relocation planned months in advance. It's going to be a long 2 weeks. FML
Today, after being jobless for 2 years, I got a call back for an interview. I was ecstatic until I saw the date. It's the same day I leave for a weeklong, nonrefundable vacation. I applied for the job 6 weeks ago, and since not hearing anything bought the vacation 2 weeks ago. FML
Open borders
Today, I accepted a great job offer I've been working months to earn so I can continue to live with my fiancé here in Poland. I just found out that my work visa was denied. Now I have to fly home to Canada and reapply before coming back. This takes a month. My new job starts tomorrow. FML
Empty seat
Today, I booked a flight to see my girlfriend. At least I thought she was coming, the flight isn't cancellable because I was broke and could only afford the minimum ticket. I just wanted to make her happy. Well, it's now four days before the flight and I haven't heard from her for a week. I've been left on 'delivered', thinking at 4 am. FML
Today, our airplane was delayed because of issues with the de-ice-ing. Then, because it had too little fuel. Then, because of engine troubles. Then, because our first officer needed to be replaced due to legal restrictions on pilots' hours. Now, I get to go straight from the plane to work. FML
Today, after spending 2 years saving for my flights, I was denied boarding due to issues with my passport. I heading straight to the embassy only to be told a replacement will take 8 days. The airline will only hold my place for 7. FML
Today, I was at work at the airport. I got called up to a plane's cargo hold, and thought I'd finally learn how to use the loader. Turns out they just needed me to weigh something down, effectively making me ballast. Then my boss told me to get the hell off, after which I hit my head hard climbing out. FML

Why the hell would you ever want to leave under bad pretenses? I always try to leave my former employers on great terms so that I can still use them as references later on.

lame. that's why you should try and not burn bridges. if you had handled it a little better, you could've kept your job for the next four weeks

yeah canadians are not Americans, but Europe refers to them as such. the only thing you can call citizens of the united states is americans, or maybe united stations... unites... fat asses.. or Yankees. I don't really care for any of them

#23 Youre an idiot. I'd elaborate but I think the reasons are pretty obvious.

last time I checked most of the western hemisphere is considered the Americas...

From my experience, Europeans do differentiate between Canadians and "Americans." That's why so many people tell you to pretend to be Canadian when traveling Europe, lol. The stereotype is that Americans are rude and Canadians are not. At least from my experience.

Again, OP is in Northwest Territories; sadly, there is less than 100 miles of CN track into that territory and smaller supplemental railways don't cover the whole territory. Most of it is boreal forest and there is not a full system of roads and highways although in winter some lakes and rivers become roads. Transportation there is not nearly as convenient as in other parts of Canada. Yet, there are airfields in many of the remoter communities.

THIS What's with the culture of quitting with all the rudeness? You might need their references later and it just says a lot about your bad attitude: That you can't handle goodbyes and can't control your immaturity. Idiot! And why didn't you give your employers two (?) weeks notice? That's beyond rude!

My mother had a job where she was emotionally abused by her boss which lead to a breakdown and caused her to end up in a mental institution for a week. I believe she had the right to burn bridges.

These sort of problems arise when your IQ is in the single digit range.

Actually, I believe that it's a law they can't tell exactly what happened because of confidetial means, but they can tell the new employer that they would never higher you again. Yes it is always good to leave respectfully. OP you're an idiot. I hope darwanism gets you next.
