Today, I shouldn't have told my boss that I was interested in management. She now throws any problem she doesn't want to solve at me and either gets mad when I can't work it out or takes credit when I do. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got in trouble with my boss for doing what she wanted me to do. I guess she didn't think I would do it, so she did it herself. FML
Slackers
Today, my boss told me that people from work have been complaining about me. Apparently, I'm not doing part of their jobs for them, and the other manager sometimes does. FML
Control
Today, my boss continued to orchestrate behind the scenes with my colleagues to make me look bad for her lack of organization. Then she showed up 10 minutes late to a meeting, shared that she needed a vacation, and realized that she needed to micromanage less. I've been asking her to make that change for months. FML
The buck stops here
Today, my boss threw me out of her office during a conference call for daring to correct her. The client fired the company because she subsequently got all the information on the call wrong, and plainly had no idea what was going on. From all the screaming, this is now all my fault. FML
Whiner!
Today, my boss yelled at me, telling me that I can't answer the phone anymore. Not because I do a bad job, but because a co-worker whined about it being her job. People call her and complain about how rude she is and then ask to talk to me. FML
Today, I went to my boss with concerns that my manager is dumping her responsibilities on me. He agreed and told me to just do whatever she wants. She gets paid twice as much as me to talk on her cellphone all day. FML
Today, I went into my boss's office to confront her about not consulting me before switching my shifts with someone else. I left in tears. FML
Can't win
Today, my supervisor told me off for doing something. When I reminded her that she told me to do it, she yelled at me for correcting her. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me for leaving on time. After months of management hounding us about our overtime, I get in trouble for doing what I was supposed to do. FML
Mommy's boy
Today, my mother, who insists on sticking her nose into every aspect of my life, found out I'm only "middle management" and called my boss to criticize her for undervaluing me, demanding I be promoted immediately. I'm now the laughing stock of my office. FML

It's not unfair. The main part of being in management is problem solving. If OP can't handle several of their boss' responsibilities or doesn't want to deal with them, then management might not be a good road to go down.

Taking credit for someone else's work doesn't sound fair to me.

life is unfair for everyone, therefore; it makes it fair for everyone.

You just can't win in situations like this.

Well OP has already won. This only proves that the manager is scared OP might get better than her and replace her or something. And the hard tasks will only make him better. It's just a matter of time before he is going to kick her ass.

I've had several managers do that kind of stuff and it sucks because it doesn't get any easier.

You might want to address this to her. Or, tell her shes being an unfair **** and quit. The choice is yours but I like the second one better.

Maybe tell a higher authority? If you didn't get a promotion for this, it really isn't fair. And her taking credit is just immature. I'm sorry she's being rude, OP.

Doing your job doesn't entitle you to a promotion, and it's indicated OP doesn't have all that management has to deal with under control anyhow. However, OP's moments of brilliance that his boss has been taking credit for will eventually be recognized. Proactive people aspiring for bigger things always find success somehow.

Except it's not OP's job, it's their manager's.... And if OP is doing managerial tasks, then he should be promoted to a position appropriate for those tasks and plus a wage that goes along with it.
MrConcise 35
Think about what you're suggesting for a second. An easy solution for the company is to "promote" OP to his boss' assistant, which would make less than a normal employee and would appropriately reflect OP's job. Relegating tasks to employees is nothing new, OP isn't entitled to a promotion over it. If he continues to show he's the better employee over his boss, then his company will see that.

your not listening 37, op is not being asked to do extra tasks that reflect their job position and expectations, they are asked to deal with manager issues which are not in their job description or responsabilities, because its something for higher ups who get paid more to do it, which eventually means OP should be paid to do so. you say they should not be paid more for doing their job, but its NOT their job. you should get paid for the job you do, not the position below you, otherwise you have a bad employer. that being said, we dont know if op will be promoted in the future, in that case they should embrace their "manager training"

Karma! You'll get what you deserve and she will too.

It may seem bad now, but don't worry. Your work will pay off and your boss will get what she deserves. Karma is a bitch in your boss's case.
