Today, I was texting the girl I am in love with. I was dropping hints about liking someone who I didn't know if they liked me back. Flirting a little. And just when I thought she'd say she liked me too, she said "Don't worry, if you were straight, I would definitely date you!". FML
Today, I sent a text to the girl I like, asking if she wanted to "hang out." Autocorrect changed it to "hand out," and she responded by asking what I was handing out. I panicked and replied, "My love." Now she thinks I'm a weirdo. FML
Today, I accidentally sent an email of love confession to my best friend, just to find out she calls all of her friends "My love" and my dumbass thought it was a special word she used only for me, and was convinced we were gay for each other. FML
Today, an old friend of mine texted me, saying we should hang out. I thought it was really sweet and was excited to see her again, until she realized that she was texting the wrong person, and canceled our plans immediately. FML
Today, I sent a text to the girl I've been getting to know online, text which was meant for my best friend. It was a screenshot of my her Instagram page with the caption, "I can't believe I'm actually going to talk to her today." FML
Today, I asked out one of the girls that hangs out in my group of friends (the same group I have been hanging out for three years). She stared at me for a couple of seconds, then said, "Who the hell are you?" FML
Today, I planned on "breaking up" with my best friend by confessing my love for her, hoping she would feel different and move on. She reciprocated. FML
Today, I confessed my love to my crush over text. Later, she posted the message I'd sent her on Facebook and wrote "look at the pathetic man". The post had over 50 laugh reacts. FML
Today, I asked the girl I like if she had her eye on anyone, subtly hinting that I wanted to date her. I sat there while she confessed her love for her cousin. FML
Today, I was texting with my childhood crush late at night and we were exchanging secrets. I figured this was as good a time as any to tell her about my long-standing crush on her. Turns out she's a lesbian. FML

I ******* hate group messages! So much.. Everyone decides to respond to it and you even have those people that'll continue a conversation through it. It doesn't take much more effort to text people by themselves. Seriously guys, just send a text to one person, not 15.

Well, technically speaking, you can learn to love someone. You just can't learn to love anybody. (As an example, most arranged marriages actually work out well, it's just that the bad ones are the only ones that become known to the public.) So if OP possibly likes the girl in question, just doesn't have any romantical feelings for her yet, then he could theoretically give it a shot, see where things take them. He might just end up falling in love with her. Although, he should only do this if he thinks that there's a chance for feelings to develop. (Else he would hurt her much more than if he'd just rejected her straight away.)

Ruining the friendship is the lamest excuse ever. Most friends come and go anyway. Unless you and your friend stay in the same town for the rest of your lives, you will grow apart. Take the risk or find a better reason. OP, maybe give it a try. You obviously friend zoned this girl, but maybe you two will actually find a connection. Or, if you find her completely repulsive, take her on a few horrible dates to show her how bad being with you is so she gets over it without ruining the friendship. Try being really boring, not a jerk. Girls stay with jerks.

As some friendships last I can see this one going either way. From experience, I have found if you have the feeling of being in love with someone and they don't have feelings back, it is very hard to watch them bring a girlfriend around and having to watch them be together after he already knows how you feel. Some people can bounce back after time and some just stay away from them.
